In the midst of a hot and dry summer here in Big Sky, we couldn't be more excited about the winter and getting back on the slopes. Big Sky Resort has announced that ski tickets are now on sale for the 2021-2022 winter season. While day tickets are no longer limited for the upcoming season, here is why we strongly suggest getting your tickets early!

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) tour is back in Big Sky from July 16-24, 2021 and tickets go on sale on March 1st. This event sells out quickly. Mark your calendars and act fast to secure your spot in one of Big Sky's biggest summer event!

Spring is one of the most dynamic times of the year in the Yellowstone National Park. The landscape changes almost daily as the hillsides start turning green and the days grow longer. The rivers run higher and the waterfalls become more prominent from the snowmelt while snow still lingers in higher elevations. As the temperatures go up, wildlife including grizzly and black bears will start coming out of hibernation and becomes more active in the meadows.

Big Sky Resort is called the Biggest Skiing in America with a magnitude of terrain for every level, and a significant degree of unfathomable steeps, accessed 300 degrees off of the Lone Peak Tram. With the most consistent snowfall in the Northern Rockies, you are guaranteed to find powder stashes throughout Big Sky.
Town Center is a 7 mile drive from the resort and boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, breweries and bars.

With an average of 4-5 snow days per week during these months, the skiing rarely disappoints. Just around town center you will find a wide network of cross country and snowshoeing trails. With Yellowstone National Park only 45 minutes away, snowmobile tours are an accessible and gorgeous way to discover the park. For animals lovers, Big Sky also offers dog sledding and sleigh ride dinners that shouldn't be missed!

It is going to be another great snow year thanks to a La Nina event continuing through the next three months. According to the NOAA three month precipitation outlook (pictured left), Big Sky is expecting precipitation amounts well above average.
