Big Sky Town Center is where the valley actually eats. Not the on-mountain cafeterias, not the resort dining rooms, but the walkable cluster of pizzerias, taco joints, sushi counters, breweries and markets that locals rotate through all winter.
We rebuilt this guide for the 2026/2027 season and verified every listing. A few longtime spots have closed or changed hands since the last version, and several strong newcomers have opened, so if you are working from an older list, start here instead.
One standing rule in Big Sky: hours are seasonal and shift with the ski calendar. Always call ahead or check online before you drive over, especially in the shoulder seasons and on holiday weeks when reservations go fast.

The first genuinely serious coffee shop Big Sky had, and it shows in the lines. Hand-pulled espresso, fresh-baked pastries, and a breakfast sandwich menu that has quietly become the reason a lot of people come in. Order at the kiosk, grab a seat in the big open room, and expect a short wait during the morning rush. There is a solid merch wall too, if you want a hoodie with your latte. Opening at 6 AM makes this the reliable pre-first-chair stop.

Part grocery store, part deli, part wine shop, and the single most useful address in Town Center for anyone staying in a vacation rental. The deli turns out enormous breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold subs, wraps, soups and salads, and there is a bakery counter and ice cream alongside. Groceries, beer, wine, and even flowers round it out. There is a patio with mountain views and an indoor seating area with big windows. There is a second Hungry Moose up in Mountain Village at 52 Big Sky Resort Rd if you are staying slopeside.

The full-size grocery store in town, and the one that saves you a two-hour round trip to Bozeman. There is an in-house butcher counter, a bakery, fresh produce, a deli with prepared foods, and a wide beer, wine and liquor selection. It is the practical answer for a week-long rental stay where you plan to cook a few nights. Mountain-town grocery prices apply, so brace accordingly. Online shopping is available if you would rather not push a cart.

Family-owned ice cream shop and the natural last stop on a Town Center evening. Flavors rotate, so there is usually something new, and the huckleberry is the one to get if you have never had Montana's signature berry. Sundaes are generously portioned and easily split between two people. Best of all, the same family runs Big Sky Noodles, so you can have pho and then walk next door for dessert. Seating is tight indoors on busy nights, but the plaza is right there.

A tasting room, liquor store and restaurant in one, and one of the more genuinely local operations in Town Center. The focus is Montana-made spirits and beers, with cocktails built from regional ingredients and bartenders who will happily walk you through what you are drinking. The food menu leans lighter than the pizza-and-burger crowd around it, with flatbreads, salads, soups, charcuterie and shareable plates, plus an emphasis on responsibly sourced proteins. It is a good early-evening stop before dinner, or a low-key alternative to a full sit-down meal. Grab a bottle for the rental on your way out.
6. Beehive Basin Brewery

Small, locally owned, and reliably full of a mix of locals and visitors, which is usually the sign you have found the right bar. The rotating tap list runs broad, from a clean Czech pilsner to hoppier IPAs, and the brewing is done by an owner who knows what he is doing. Leashed dogs are welcome inside, which makes this a favorite for anyone traveling with one. Watch for their events calendar, including a weekly night where you can get your skis waxed while you drink. Seating is limited, so it fills up fast on a snowy afternoon.

The late-night anchor of Town Center and the closest thing Big Sky has to a proper apres institution. There are indoor and outdoor music stages with a steady live lineup, shuffleboard and billiards, a big patio, and enough room to fit a large group without splitting up. Food is elevated bar fare in generous portions, and the soft pretzel sticks with cheese fondue have a following. There is also casino access for anyone inclined. If you want one place to land after a ski day and stay for hours, this is it.

A bistro, bar, live music venue and movie theater under one roof, which makes it the best rainy-day or storm-day answer in Town Center. Downstairs there is a bar with a big screen for games and a proper dining room; upstairs holds more tables and a second bar. The kitchen does a well-executed trout and good bison, and the cocktail program is more thoughtful than it needs to be. Trivia nights and live acoustic sets are regular fixtures. Larger parties are doable but worth calling ahead for.

New to Town Center and a genuinely welcome addition to the lunch rotation. The setup is order at the window and grab a booth, with a retro diner feel and colorful, casual decor. Burgers are the point, the waffle fries are consistently good, and there are real vegetarian options including a veggie burger. Milkshakes are worth the add-on, and the staff will make recommendations if you ask. It is one of the few places in Town Center serving a full menu continuously from late morning through dinner, which matters more than you would think in a town where a lot of kitchens close between services.

The Jackson Hole original brought its slice-shop energy to Big Sky, and it fills the by-the-slice gap in town. Whole pies and single slices are both available, which makes it the easy call when the group cannot agree or when you want to eat fast and get back out. There is a small bar with local brews on tap and a low-key, well-lit room that works fine for families. The Abe Froman with balsamic glaze and the Funky Chicken are the two most-ordered specialty pies. Open for lunch, which narrows the field considerably in Town Center.

The sit-down pizza restaurant of the group, and one of the better values in a town where dinner checks add up fast. Beyond pizza there is a full pasta menu, chicken parm, and salads, with a decent wine and beer list. The room has a warm, busy vibe and works well for families and mixed groups. The Montanan pie with potato chips is the signature and divides people, so order it knowing what you are getting. It gets crowded at 6 PM, so either go early or go late.

The cult favorite from Mountain Village opened a second location down in Town Center, which is good news if you have ever stood in that lift-line-length queue on the mountain. Loaded gourmet hot dogs are the whole concept, with topping combinations that run well past ketchup and mustard, including a kimchi dog that has real fans. It is counter service with limited seating, so it works best as a fast lunch rather than a lingering meal. Portions are single-serving sized and priced like a resort town. Check the hours before you go, since this location runs a shorter week than the mountain one.

The format is build-your-own down an assembly line, with wraps or bowls, a range of proteins, and legitimate vegetarian options including portabello and black beans. Portions are large, the Mexi-Ranch has a following, and there is a small seating area for eating in. They also pour frozen margaritas and hard liquor, which is an unexpected bonus for a wrap counter. Ideal for a fast post-ski lunch when nobody wants to sit through a full dinner service.

The best-reviewed Mexican spot in Town Center and a consistent crowd-pleaser. Tacos and burritos anchor the menu, the margarita list is long, and there is a house salsa wall where you can wander over and try a different sauce on every bite. The tres leches is made in-house and worth saving room for. There is a dog-friendly patio with couches, plus enough indoor seating to handle a group of six without a fight. There is a kids' taco menu too, which makes this an easy family dinner.

A long-running Town Center fixture and one of the few kitchens in Big Sky serving genuinely late on a Friday night. The menu is straightforward Mexican with a solid margarita program and an attentive bar. Worth knowing before you go: chips and salsa are not complimentary here, and on busy nights they may not seat parties smaller than four, so call ahead if you are a group of two or three. The lunch service from noon to 3 PM is a useful midday option when much of Town Center is closed between meals. Friday's 2 AM close makes it the default late-night stop.

Thai Basil took over the Ousel Falls Road space that housed China Cafe for years, and it fills the Thai gap in Town Center. Portions are large, the curries and noodle dishes are the strength, and there is a full menu available for takeout if you would rather eat at the rental. The dining room is genuinely small and they do not take reservations, so arrive early or plan on a wait, and know that parties larger than five are difficult to seat. Open continuously from 11 AM, which puts it on the short list of Town Center kitchens serving lunch. Takeout is the move for bigger groups.

A small family-run Vietnamese spot and one of the most beloved rooms in Town Center. Pho is the headline, with a rich broth and portions where the small is genuinely enough for most people, and there are vegan-friendly options that actually work rather than being an afterthought. Rotating specials like the beef stew are worth asking about. Prices are noticeably gentle for Big Sky, which is a large part of the appeal. The same family runs Big Sky Scoops next door, so pho and then ice cream is a legitimate itinerary.

Attached to the Wilson Hotel but designed so it does not feel like a hotel restaurant, which is the first thing most people notice walking in. The menu covers steaks, seafood, burgers and pasta, with regular prime rib and other specials, and it is the most polished sit-down dinner in Town Center proper. Weekend brunch service from 11 AM to 3 PM is a genuine differentiator here. There is a happy hour with a dice-roll gimmick at the end that is more fun than it sounds. Book ahead in peak weeks, and allow extra time when the room is full.
Worth the Short Drive
Town Center covers a lot, but a few Big Sky standouts sit just outside it and are worth the ten minutes: Olive B's Big Sky Bistro in Meadow Village for wild game and made-from-scratch desserts, The Cabin Bar & Grill in Mountain Village for the best high-end steakhouse experience in the area, and Horn and Cantle at Lone Mountain Ranch for a rustic-elegant dinner in a historic setting. Up at the resort, Big Sky Resort's dining lineup includes the Vista Hall food court, Everett's 8800 atop Andesite, and the Iglu ice bar at the base of the Lone Peak Tram.
