Elevate your autumn adventure in Big Sky at the exhilarating Metal in the Mountain festival. Hosted by the Arts Council of Big Sky and Rocks Tasting Room, Metal in the Mountains is back as a special addition to the Music in the Mountains. Metal in the Mountains features year local legends Scavenger and Hell's Belle's.
THE RUT

For those seeking a fall challenge that blends breathtaking scenery with physical prowess, look no further than The Rut Mountain Run on Big Sky's iconic Lone Mountain. The Rut is a three-day Montana mountain running celebration designed for all levels of athletes, from amateurs and kids to professional trail runners. Please note that 2025 Registration is FULL but it's a great event for spectators too! The Kids 1K Rut Run is still open for registration.
BIG SKY FARMERS MARKET

The final Big Sky Fall Farmers Market takes place on Wednesdays in September in Big Sky Town Center Plaza. Slightly smaller than the summer farmers market, the fall market features handmade crafts and artwork from talented local artisans, live music, food vendors, and a variety of fresh fall produce and seasonal supplies from local farmers.
BIG SKY OKTOBERWEST

Founded by local residents in 2023, Big Sky Oktoberfest is a festival where Montana's spirit meets German tradition. Held every Fall in the Big Sky Town Center, Oktoberfest is a 3-day celebration featuring traditional German food, beer, music, and activities including stein holding contests, cornhole and more! Proceeds for the event benefit youth sports scholarships in Big Sky.
HAUNTED PEAKS HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL
WHEN: October 24th - 26th, 2025

A three-day Halloween celebration in Big Sky Town Center. This all ages event is filled with traditional holiday activities like the Dia De Los Muertos celebration, a costume block party with acts like BoomBox, Magic Beans, and Shakewell, Mini Monster Mash costume contest and trick or treat, a horror film festival, Happy Hour costume party for people and pets, a haunted run to the pub, Pumpkin King & Queen carving competition, and other great Fall fun.
