Who doesn't love a day spent outdoors, enjoying live music and an apres beverage with friends and family? Luckily, Big Sky Resort hosts a variety of different events in their indoor and outdoor venues throughout every season of the year. Read on to learn about the most up-to-date events and live music being offered this spring in Big Sky!


WHEN: Thursday - Sunday Weekly

Whether you're getting your groove on in the plaza to a DJ set or sipping a cocktail by the fire listening to an acoustic performer, there's music for your ears at Big Sky Resort.

Avalanche Dog Meet & Greet

WHEN: Wednesdays 1:30pm – 2:00pm

WHERE: Explorer Gondola Mid-Station

Meet the avalanche dogs of Big Sky Resort! Learn about the dogs, their training, and how they support the Big Sky ski patrol team.

Avalanche dogs are an integral part of ski patrol teams. Meet one of the dogs on our roster, learn about their role in the event of an avalanche, their training, and more.Meet at the Explorer Gondola mid-station for an on-snow demonstration.

A lift ticket, pass, or Kircliff Scenic ticket is required to access the mid-station. Children 6 & under ski for $1 a day and are complimentary for Kircliff Scenic access.


Peakside Pours

WHEN: Tuesdays and Fridays 4:00pm – 6:00pm

WHERE: Carabiner & Chets

Wine, beer, and spirits, we love them all—join in on the fun for complimentary tastings and live music. Tuesdays in the Carabiner Lounge and Fridays in Chet's Bar & Grill.


Enchanted Forest

WHEN: Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through March 28th

WHERE: Andesite Mountain

Over 10,000 lights illuminate the way along a kilometer-long path atop Andesite Mountain. This family-friendly activity features immersive light displays and an opportunity to warm up around an outdoor fire pit. You'll also be cozy on the ride up with Ramcharger 8's heated seats and weatherproof bubbles.

Shedhorn Skimo

WHEN: February 21st 8:00am – 4:00pm

The Shedhorn Ski Mountaineering Race returns to Big Sky this March! In this world-class endurance race, you'll work against gravity and come away knowing you completed the toughest SkiMo race course in the country. Taking you up long climbs and down big mountain descents like the Big Couloir, this race is not for the lighthearted.


FAT Ice Race Moonlight Basin

WHEN: February 27 - 28th

WHERE: Moonlight Basin

The FAT Ice Race is back in the U.S.! It's more than just a race — it's a full-on celebration of car culture. From classic icons to future legends, Ice Race brings together passionate drivers, fans, and thrill-seekers for an unforgettable two days of automotive excitement.

This unique event features a mix of racing classes, exhibitions showcasing rare and exotic cars, DJ sets, and entertainment highlights – with pre- and after-race activations & celebrations across Big Sky.

Special Olympics of Montana

WHEN: March 2nd 9:00am – 4:00pm

WHERE: Madison Base

The 17th Annual Big Sky Area Winter Games Competition will return to Big Sky Resort. Throughout the day, athletes from the Big Sky area and several other areas around the state will compete in Giant Slalom, Snowshoe, and Cross-Country races. The Special Olympics of Montana returns to Big Sky Resort for a day of winter sports competitions. Come watch and cheer on the athletes!


International Women's Day

WHEN: March 8th 1:00pm – 6:00pm


WHERE: On-Mountain + The Umbrella Bar

Celebrate International Women's Day with a group ski & ride and happy hour with the women of the Big Sky Resort community!

Grab your skis or board and join Big Sky Resort on Saturday, March 8th, as we celebrate International Women's Day with an empowering day filled with skiing and snowboarding, camaraderie, and fun. Join in on the fun for an afternoon of skiing followed by après ski in the Mountain Village Plaza and pop-ups from some of the top women-owned brands.

This event is free to join and open to all women and non-binary identifying skiers and riders.​ Lift ticket required for on-mountain participation.

A Day For Jake

WHEN: March 14th 8:00am – 6:00pm

WHERE: On-Mountain + Mountain Village

Join in on the fun for a global day to celebrate the legacy of Jake Burton Carpenter. Check in at the Burton store to enter the days raffle, pick up stickers and more (while supplies last). #rideonjake

5:00pm: Raffle winners announced in the Mountain Village Plaza

9:00am- 12:00pm: Register and pick up raffle tickets at The Rider's Room in the Mountain Village

11:00am – 2:00pm: Check out our special park installation in the Powder Seeker Bowl

2:30pm – 3:00pm: Meet at the base of the Bowl for a cheers to Jake and a group ride down Upper Morning Star.​ Lift tickets are required.

4:00pm – 6:00pm: Après at Vista Hall​ with happy hour specials


Rivian Spring Après

WHEN: March 21st

WHERE: Mountain Village

 An afternoon celebration showcasing Rivian's R1 versatility during prime Spring Break time. Playful activations highlight adventure-ready technology for the whole family.

Rivian's Compass Club is located in Mountain Village on the North side of the Exchange building. 


WHEN: March 27th - 28th

WHERE: Big Sky Resort

Come watch freeride ski & snowboard athletes at the professional and collegiate levels as they compete for entry to the Freeride World Tour 2026.

Local's Tip: Spectators welcome. Access the venues via Madison 8 and Stillwater Road.

Spring Series: Music, Après, Pond Skim

WHEN: Every weekend in April

WHERE: Big Sky Resort

Big Sky Presents: Spring Series. Four weekends of live performances, spring skiing, and the return of Pond Skim.

Join in on the fun for Spring Series, Big Sky's signature music event - four consecutive Saturdays in April where The Bowl transforms into an alpine amphitheater at the base of Lone Peak. This isn't just a concert series; it's where live music meets spring skiing and mountain culture, all happening at 9,000 feet in the alpine.

Each weekend features a different artist with a unique sound. A live electronic act known for blending saxophone with synth-driven beats. A female-led duo bringing "hope house" energy straight from the festival circuit. An electronic-pop trio whose viral hits are topping global charts. And a multi-platinum R&B powerhouse with over a billion streams to close out the season.

Easter Celebrations

WHEN: April 25th

Celebrate Easter in Big Sky with events for all. Ski with the Easter Bunny, hunt for hidden eggs, or enjoy a special sunrise service.


Easter Sunrise Service 

WHEN: April 5th 7:00am – 7:45am

Celebrate Easter in Big Sky with a special sunrise service at the top of Andesite Mountain.


Easter Egg Hunt

WHEN: April 5th 9:00am – 11:00am

WHERE: Mountain Village

Get ready to search high and low for Easter eggs all across Big Sky Resort. This family-friendly egg hunt is open to kids of all ages, and the eagle-eyed can search for the golden egg for an extra special prize.


Ski With the Easter Bunny  

WHEN: April 5th 9:00am – 4:00pm

WHERE: Swift Current Runs

Ski with the Easter Bunny—he may help you find some of his eggs hidden around the mountain!


Spring Series: Pond Skim 

WHEN: April 11th 1:30 pm

WHERE: The Bowl

Big Sky's legendary Pond Skim returns on Saturday, April 11th in a brand-new venue to cap off the season.

Winter's most iconic farewell: The legendary Big Sky pond skim returns better than ever to the base of The Bowl on Saturday, April 26th. Put on your best costume and make a splash, whether you're competing or cheering the skimmers on. The energy follows off-mountain, with après in the Plaza, Friday-Sunday 3:00pm – 6:00pm.

Winter '25/26 Closing Day

 WHEN: April 24th - 26th

Celebrate the final weekend of winter as Big Sky wrap sup the '25/26 winter season.
