Your luxurious mountain home is beautifully secluded yet only a ten-minute drive to Big Sky’s hub Mountain Village, and a 45-minute scenic drive to the geological wonders of West Yellowstone.

Ski Access is king at the Moonlight Mountain Homes, with direct ski-in/ski-out access to Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort. Access lift start date varies, but typically early to mid-December. Access lifts may close before Big Sky Resort's closing day depending on snow conditions. No access until lifts open and after lifts close. Direct access to the Madison Base Area Ski School makes morning lessons a breeze.
Ski Out:
Step off the back deck of your Big Sky Montana rental cabin onto the Gambler ski access trail. Ski through the tunnel below you. Follow Gambler access out to Powder River Ski Run which will take you right to the Moonlight Lodge and the Ironhorse chair lift. (Green access)

From the top of Ironhorse or Six Shooter lifts, ski down Lazy Jack to the intersection of Cinnabar and Powder River. Stay straight on Powder River continuing through the ski tunnel. Take your first right and travel over the skier bridge. This is the Gambler Way access. Your home will be the second on the right.

The Chalet was very cozy, lots of throw blankets to snuggle up with & nice high-end bed linens = Great comfort! The mountain views are so beautiful! Finding it was difficult as Derringer rd. isn't on Waze and with some street names being the same, it was a challenge every time, but we found the humor in it. Roxie's Grocery store is not far and had everything we needed. The Big Sky resort also not far with nice places to eat and shop. The ice maker was broken but the issue was handled right away, and ice bags were delivered while we were away which was very nice. The night sky while soaking in the jacuzzi was breathtaking. I've never seen the big dipper so close in my life! Oh! The TUB in the master bedroom downstairs OMG! I plan on replacing my tub with one like that! It's so deep and comfortable. We had a great time and appreciated the quick attention to the one issue. I highly recommend this property. We loved the privacy, scenic views and spacious home!! We had a wedding at the Yellowstone Club so didn’t realize we would be so far up and down and up the mountain but it all worked out!! My family and I had an incredible stay at this property. The views were breathtaking and the home was spotless. Home was exactly as pictured. The loft area was great for my sons, and my daughter was happy with her private room. The master bedroom downstairs was huge. Great set-up.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this house!!!!!! The pictures don’t do it justice! It was absolutely perfect for our family. The views are absolutely insane! We stayed here in April and there was so much snow on the ground. We all enjoyed skiing and walking right out our front door to play in the snow. The house was very clean and beautifully appointed. We felt right at home. The upstairs loft area was perfect for our kids. And the other 2 bedroom were very nice! The only things that weren’t ideal is that the hot tub jets didn’t work (which we didn’t mind) and the back porch and outdoor furniture were covered in multiple feet of snow. The temperature was in the 40s and 50s each day and we wanted to sit out back so my husband shoveled the snow for a couple hours and was able to remove all of it. The best view anywhere! Everything was perfect and we didn’t want to leave.
The master bedroom and fireplace are perfect on a cold night. My teen girls each had their own space to relax after long days out sight seeing. The master bath tub with jets along with the hot tub on the deck were added bonuses.
Sitting out on the deck in the morning with no noise except birds and the wind….perfection.

This is a beautiful house with amazing views! It was super clean with lots of nice amenities. Our family of six found it to be the perfect space and layout. We like to cook meals for ourselves and the kitchen was well appointed. There was enough space for everyone and plenty of room to gather everyone in the common area too. Perfect! The location is exactly what we wanted. The house is in great shape, decorated very well and the layout very functional. Kitchen well stocked with quality equipment. Great place to ski, hang out and make meals together. We left looking forward to visiting again sometime!

We had a great stay! The ski in/ski out access made getting on the mountain super easy. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing. The home was so beautiful - million dollar views for sure. Big Sky Vacation Rentals is great! All of the instructions sent by them were in depth and straightforward. When we had a concern during our trip they handled it timely. I would not hesitate to book with them again and will recommend others to book through them. We absolutely loved our stay at this home! It was only four of us, but would’ve fit another two people very comfortably. The hot tub was great, the views were unbelievable, and we loved the indoor fireplace. We used the fireplace every night. We will definitely look to book this house when we return!

Property Manager: Big Sky Vacation Rentals was amazing! They provided step by step directions for everything and were available for any issues 24-7. The home we stayed at was just as advertised and they provided fire wood, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, laundry soap, dish soap, etc. We did have some issues with the detectors in the home but the rental company was always available for our questions. They even helped with recommendations of restaurants for the off season. They did any amazing job the entire week we stayed. Property: The home is beautiful. It was just as advertised and had all the amenities promised. It was cleaned to perfection and they even provided COVID sanitizing products. The house had all the cooking utensils, spices, pots, pans, etc. you would need to live with. The decor was beautiful with the coziest pillows and throw blankets. We had a garage to park the car in, seats out on the deck, an amazing spa, firewood to last us all week and it is just far enough not to feel crowded by any neighboring cabins. We loved this house on on 5 Derringer. We have been to Big Sky many times ..this was our favorite place to stay. It was up on the mountain so when it rained it snowed up there...we were delighted ...snow in August...we came from hot, muggy, Ga so we loved it. Holly and Megan and all the people at Big Sky Vacation Rentals were so attentive and hospitable. When you book with them, they personally call you, email you tons of information and stay in touch with you via text or email to make sure everything is good during your stay. Trust me, this group is on top of their business! I highly recommend Big Sky Vacation Rentals and we loved the house! This is the perfect ski vacation home. It has convenient access to the Iron Horse lift and is trail side in Moonlight Basin. It is also easy to drive into town from here. The bedrooms are comfortable, the fireplace is magnificent, and the views are exceptional.
