Situated atop Cowboy Heaven on the Moonlight side of Lone Mountain, this ski-in/ski-out property is just steps from a groomed ski access run.  An ideal fit for larger families, groups, or 3 vacationing couples, this 1,700 sq. foot Moonlight Mountain Home has plenty of well-appointed space to gather, or spread out, in style.  Take in the evening alpenglow, or catch a majestic sunrise, kicking back on the vast deck.  Go for a soak under dazzling stars in the amazing outdoor hot  tub.  Relax and keep toasty by a roaring fire in the house's great room.  Remote but still close enough to all the action, and only 45 scenic miles from West Yellowstone, this incredible, high-altitude hideaway has all the comforts of home, and makes an inspired starting point for wherever the day takes you.

Please note this Big Sky home in Moonlight Basin is not part of the Moonlight Club and does not have access to the Moonlight Club amenities or Moonlight Lodge, including the dining room and bar.

Moonlight lifts are scheduled to open Dec 15.
Suitable for snowboarders and skiers.  Located on the Gambler access.

Ski-Out: 5.0
Step off back deck onto ski Gambler ski access follow this until it feeds out to Powder River. This will take you to the Ironhorse lift. You can also use the Gambler access to access the Alpine Meadows access trail.
Ski-In: 5.0
Take Blue Moon back to Ironhorse lift. (Open until 4 PM) At the top follow signs for Powder River. Ski through the concrete tunnel and take your first left over the skier bridge.  This will bring you back directly to the home.

My husband and I loved this home. It was comfortable for the two of us but would have been great with more people. It is a lovely home in a beautiful setting. Clean, well maintened, wonderful amenities. We have rented many houses in this category but none that was so well equipped. We definitely want to return.

Company was very easy to deal with. Handled most online and response and confirmation were both prompt. Consistent follow up through the entire process and detailed emails with directions and instructions. Appreciated a team member coming and cleaning off the deck and grill area. One area to add to this list would be the satellite dish. It went blank on us but we figured it out without having to call maintenance. Others may not be quite as handy or familiar with dealing with Direct TV and blocked sat dishes. Not an issue for us just might save a trip up the hill for someone.

This house has a great location in Moonlight Basin. It does not have membership in the now private Moonlight Club but wasnt an issue for our group although it would have been nice to be able to go to dinner one night there. We knew going in there wouldnt be access but perhaps a day membership for an additional charge would be a future option. Ski in / Ski out was great to the Iron Horse Lift, house was comfortable and well furnished. Great view during clear weather. Not sure you could sleep 8 in this house. Perfect size is 2 couples. Access was easy and even with heavy snow the Moonlight folks did a great job keeping the roads open. You will need 4 wheel drive to be sure, but had not issues. Garage was nice to keep truck clear of snow. Not having to keep up with a key with the electronic lock was nice but when gone skiing not really a way to lock the ski in / ski out door as you cant really walk back up the hill with heavy snow to use the lock on the front door. Maybe a second electronic lock on the back door. Only other suggestions would be to update the mattresses in the bedrooms. They werent the best and there are lots of options out there at reasonable prices to make this change. Casper mattresses would be a good option for this class of rental and resonably priced. Access to the ski in / ski out is thru the downstairs bedroom. As much as we tried we couldnt keep from tracking snow in. Maybe a bench or something outside where skiers can sit down and unbuckle boots or at a minimum a waterproof mat at the door to trap the snow. A ski rack would likely keep some knicks and dings off the house. A grooming machine comes up the Gambler run so you have to be sure and leave skis near the house which means just leaning them against the house. Just some suggestions and wouldnt impact our decision to stay in this house again. This is one of the better ski houses we have stayed in after many years of skiing.

The view from the house is INSANE! The house gives you a feeling of warm and home-alike. Everything is equipped. Nice house, great value! An hour and half drive from Yellowstone national park. But it's a perfect place to see starry night!!

My husband and I stayed at this property last week for four nights and our stay was excellent! The property is beautiful with amazing views! We enjoyed cooking meals in the gourmet kitchen and relaxing on deck and hot tub. My husband spotted wildlife each night which was incredible. If you're looking for a relaxing get away this is a great place!
