We love Das Moose! This is our second year staying at this house and our group of 11 had the best time. The place is spacious, comfortable, and everything was perfect for our ski trip. We’ll definitely be back again at Das Moose on our next visit to Big Sky

MVC Das Moose Haus

Das Moose was a beautiful property with amazing views of Lone Peak. It was clean and well appointed for our family group of 13. The kitchen and main living area was perfect for group cooking/dining/relaxing after a full day of winter funtivities. And we all enjoyed watching some big time college basketball games in the theater room during our stay. Highly recommend this home!!

Big house in big sky
2 families with 14 adults stayed here. Hosts were accessible and prompt. Location to big sky is very accessible, short ride to free parking and a pickup for access to the base. You can also reserve parking at the base for 50/day through the resort. Beds were comfy, pool table and poker table were used and hot tub was plenty hot and always functioning. Great kitchen stocked with lots of kitchen gear. Great house!

Epic week in Big Sky! We loved being in the vast mountains, enjoying nature (a gigantic bull moose walked RIGHT in front of the kitchen window one morning)! The location was perfect . . we were able to do a day trip in Yellowstone, raft the yellowstone river, take the Lone Peak expedition, and enjoy gourmet dining.

Family Ski Vacation
We had an amazing vacation. This property is exactly as it is described and pictured. We were a party with 9 adults and 2 small children. The home was extremely well stocked and supplied. With such a large group, we cooked at the home. We had everything we needed, pots, pans, crock pots and everything else to make cooking enjoyable. Bedrooms, blankets, pillows all great. Everything about the process: booking, checking it, etc was super easy. Getting to the slopes was also easy. As a VRBO owner and fairly frequent vacationer, this home is a fantastic place for a family vacation. Seeing foxes and other wildlife was a huge plus. Would definitely recommend.

3 families for Presidents' Weekend
This was our second time to Big Sky and first time staying in Das Moose Haus. Everything was perfect for our group and we would absolutely rent this house again. The communication and service was excellent and much appreciated. The theater room was a huge bonus for the children at the end of the day when they were tired - dark, cozy, kept them quiet while the adults hung out. 5 stars all around!

The view and amenities of Das Moose were wonderful! The game room, hot tub, and spacious rooms provided activities and enjoyable family time. We loved the large kitchen, range, and use of the grill. Having kitchen basics (spices, soap) were helpful. The beds were comfy and the linens very nice. The deck, yard, and fireplace are beautiful! We appreciated the labels on the lights and in the kitchen.

This home is our favorite home we have stayed at in Big Sky! The space is very comfortable for a large family gathering. The outdoor space is private and allows for plenty of room for kids to play in the snow. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and spices. From the living room, you can watch people ski on the slopes. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying again.

My fiancée and I rented this place to elope. It was the perfect size place for our micro-wedding, as all the guests were family and stayed with us in the cabin. For the price, our expectations were pretty high, and honestly they were blown away.
The great room is very spacious but still incredibly cozy with the fire. The entire family enjoyed the movie theater, and the hot-tub was very popular. The deck was the perfect venue for our wedding, and the host sent someone over on the first day to shovel the snow from it. The views from the deck are absolutely spectacular.
While I'm not personally much of a cook, our chef glowed about the immaculate kitchen and the Wolf stove for hours.
During the week we had a lot of fresh snow, and our host came by on multiple of occasions to shovel/plow. However, we did have someone get stuck with a front-wheel drive car. I would STRONGLY recommend 4-wheel drive if you are staying in the winter/fall.
Our 9-yo gave it 26,000 out of 10 stars.

This is a beautiful home with great views, fully stocked kitchen, 2 sets of washers/dryers, high end appliances, fans in the bedrooms, humidifiers (it’s very dry in Big Sky), large Weber grill, comfortable beds, great game room etc… Highly recommend this house for a large group. Wonderful Time
Das Moose House Review February 2022. House was as advertised and beautiful. It was a special occasion for my family group of 15. Well provisioned with cooking utensils and spices (and we added a few to the spice rack)! As a luxury resort rental homeowner myself I am very aware of the requirements (read headaches) that an owner and management company have to deal with. In Das Moose both were a pleasure to work with. One example was the hot tub. After a day of skiing Big Sky, the hot tub was a necessity. Several of the days it was not working correctly. However, the management team in conjunction with the owner (I’m guessing) had technical repair teams out every day to give us the best experience. Machines get old and break (it happens) but we did not get the normal response-- we got service and a genuine response to fix the issue. Big Group, big meals hot and ready when everyone got off the slopes and out of the tub (if working) we scoured the cabinets the first night and could not find a large crock pot. I called in-house service and a large new crock pot appeared. The theme here is the owner knows he is providing a beautiful luxury rental home and asks top dollar for it and they work with the management team to make that expensive trip a very positive experience. Well-appointed bedrooms, comfortable beds and chairs throughout the house. Movie theater was a secret hideaway to relax after dinner for my wife and myself, but soon was full as everyone got their kids in bed. Steam Room was an extra that I must have missed when reading about the house but it was well used and such a nice touch. Distance to the slopes maybe 2 miles to Big Sky and about 2 miles to Madison Meadow,s lift line times differ so try both. We had grandchildren with us and Madison Meadows gave us a better time with the small ones. Great trip

Property Manager: We really enjoyed out time in the cabin. After our arrival at the cabin one of the Big Sky Vacation Rental employees came and met with us giving us lots of valuable information and answered any questions that we had. The employee made mention that we should keep our doors closed so that bears did not come in. We made note of the advice but felt that we would not have such an experience however we did listen to her advice and glad we did. The next morning a large black bear came within 50 feet of the back door. Two days later another black bear approached the garage area, where the doors were open. The trash for the cabin was stored in this area and thankfully the bear did not come inside the garage. After sniffing around for a few seconds the bear walked to the side of the house and down in the woods. Property: If you like wildlife and being close to a ski resort, this is the place for you. It is also within 60 miles of Yellowstone west entrance.

Property Manager: The team was non intrusive. We called the team once to research a refrigerator problem. They looked into the issue promptly and never bothered us the entire trip. The only other time we called was because there was an abundance of snow when we arrived, and we had trouble getting in and out of the driveway (even with big Suburbans). Property: We come to Big Sky every year for Spring Break skiing. Typically we stay at The Summit because of the super convenient ski in - ski out access. Although this year, because of the number of people in our group, we needed larger accommodations/more room. My husband and I were bummed to not find anything at The Summit, so we anticipated a little disappointment having to book an off-site house. We quickly realized that Das Moose Haus is such a fantastic place to stay! The drive to the slopes was painless - only 2 minutes away (driving). There was plenty of room in the house for 13 of us. We enjoyed many meals in the cozy and spacious kitchen/dining area. The living room was perfect for afternoon reading or enjoying family time. And the hot tub was a hit for the people who went skiing all day! For those reading this review: I HIGHLY recommend ordering your groceries in advance and having them delivered by Hungry Moose. It was such a relief to have food in the refrigerator (and not have to go out and shop for them) after a long day of traveling. I also recommend having a private dinner at the house. Some of the restaurants in Big Sky are ok, but reservations can be tricky. Sarah Duncan (private chef from Bozeman) really did a fantastic job of preparing a special tapas dining experience for us.

Property Manager: Would stay here again in a heartbeat! We take a family ski trip every year and Das Moose Haus is in the top three. Positives: Awesome views that are not apparent in the pictures. House is really nicer than it appears in the pictures. Lots of room to spread out for our group of ten. Great theater room. Comfortable beds. All electronics work great. Well equipped kitchen. Nice large garage for two suburbans and room to spare. Hot tub was wonderful. Two laundry areas were helpful. Snow plows cleaning the driveway and people shoveling the walkways was helpful. Big Sky vacation rental agency was nice to work with. We would go back in a second!

Property Manager: Very pleasant and accommodating members of the team. Such nice, caring people. All correspondence whether by email or phone with Big Sky Vacation Rentals was in a timely manner and all details were explicit and all questions answered. Property: We took our children and grandchildren to Das Moose Haus for a 4 day - 5 night stay over Thanksgiving. There were 8 adults and 8 grandchildren (ranging in age from 5 to 19). Everyone had their own space and this home accommodated all our sleeping needs. The theatre was a big hit along with the pool table and hot tub. We wish there would have been more snow for better skiing and sledding but that is through no fault of anyone. Feeding and cooking for 16 requires large refrigeration and oven space which is available at Das Moose Haus. The beds were very comfortable. The views are breathtaking. This home is supplied with everything a person would need. We had a great time and hope to go back again.

Property Manager: The staff was very friendly and amazingly helpful! We booked a house but ended up needing to upgrade because our group got bigger. And when the second house we booked ended up being taken off of the rental list, they were able to find us another house that was able to accommodate us. They were very quick with returning phone calls and emails and they were also very helpful when it came to finding the perfect rental! I would highly recommend Big Sky Vacation Rentals to other friends or colleagues! The site was easy to navigate and the staff was friendly and easy to deal with. Property: We rented this house to celebrate my mom's 50th Birthday and it was absolutely fantastic! There were 16 of us, most of which were our very close friends, and not once did we ever feel crowded. It was a very spacious house with the most beautiful views. And we absolutely loved the movie theater, game room, and hot tub. And the kitchen was fully stocked, more so than any other rental I've ever stayed at. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't leave once! And the beds were extremely comfortable too! Das Moose House was nothing short of being AMAZING!! We would recommend this house to anyone!

Property: Awesome house worked great for 4 families This house is huge and fabulous! The view of Lone Peak out the back window is amazing. There were 15 of us and we were very comfortable in this beautifully decorated house. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are 2 laundry rooms! Each of the 4 adult couples had their own private bathrooms and the kids had their own space, they loved the theater room! We were about an hour away from Yellowstone and went there twice. But there was also so much to do in Big Sky...rode to the top of Lone Peak, ropes course, whitewater rafting, zip line, horseback riding, fly fishing and lots of hiking. The hot tub was used every night! This was one of our best vacations ever!

Property: This house is so amazing! It is huge and beautifully furnished. We had 4 families (15 people) stay together in this house and it was perfect. Each couple had a room with a private bath and the children had their own space, they loved the theater room. The house has a very well equipped kitchen and 2 laundry rooms! The view of Lone Peak from the back patio is spectacular! There was even a fox that visited daily. Yellowstone is about an hour away, but there is also so much to do in Big Sky that we were busy everyday... visited the top of Lone Peak, ropes course, fly fishing, white water rafting, zip line, horseback riding and lots of hiking.( We needed a vacation from our vacation.) Thanks for one of the greatest vacations ever!!!

Property: Best Family Vacation Experience -something for everyone We had 3 families stay here which included kids ages 9 years to 20 years. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We have mostly boys in our group and the basement was perfect for them as they just used it as their 'man cave' while the rest of us spent most of our time upstairs enjoying the beautiful view from the deck and relaxing. It was great having two laundry rooms so we could all do laundry and not have to wait. The apartment above the garage worked out well for our 'newlyweds' to have some privacy with their own place to stay. We felt safe in the area to go out walking in the afternoon/evening to see some wildlife and admire the beauty all around. We took two day trips to Yellowstone (about 45 min drive) and we were always so glad to get back to our home to relax and enjoy our place. The kids never ran out of things to do right there at the house and also spent the nights watching movies in the theater room...a big hit. Any time we had questions or needed help, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and available to answer our questions to help us out...even after hours! I would recommend this house to anyone traveling in the area...it was money very well spent and all of us there agreed that this house was perfect for us. We were all ready to go back shortly after we got back home...a wonderful family vacation for all of us!

Property: Incredibly Great Family Experience! Extremely spacious and comfortable. My parents, 4 brothers and our families stayed very comfortably and enjoyed every minute! We played games and billiards, watched movies on a big screen, cooked in a huge wonderful kitchen we all wished we had back home, and ate at a large table or on the spacious patio. The view of the Big Sky Ski Resort Lone Mountain was breath-taking. Activities such as zip-line and hiking were very close by. The owners and caretakers were wonderful hosts, attentive to all our needs, and the price was great! Would recommend to all families.

Property: Unforgettable! I can't say enough of the quality of service provided by Big Sky Vacation Rentals! They called several times to see that everything was fine as well as came by to show us around. In advance of our stay, they offered many services and hooked us up with grocery delivery as well as a fantastic private chef. The house was so cozy and had everything we needed and then some! It was 5 minutes from the Village and lifts although I believe you could have skied over there as well(we didn't try). All in all, this was our most memorable vacation ever!

Magnificent! It exceeded our expectations. There was room to spread out, the basement rec room/home theatre was a big hit for all ages. The hot tub was great after a day on the slopes. Very quick response to a heating problem. We highly recommend Das Moose Haus to all. We definitely hope to return.

What started 20 years ago as a quick trip for three brothers in search of perfect snow and steep runs has continued to evolve. In February 0f 2017, 11 of us rented Das Moose Haus. Absolute perfection. Every detail was exceptional, from the management company's welcoming visit to the number of dishes, glasses and cooking utensils. Nothing was missed. Plenty of beds, large hot tub, pool table, theater room, card table, deck, grill....the list goes on and on. The only items under utilized were the TVs of which there were many. Perfect location, perfect snow conditions and a great time. Looking forward to a return trip. Thank you for having us.

Our family of 7 had a hard time using all the wonderful rooms, decks, baths, game room activities, and all other amenities. this house is gorgeous and is in a beautiful location. It's furnished with anything you may need. We visited in the summer to escape the Texas heat, so sitting on the deck having morning coffee wrapped in a blanket watching deer and fox stroll across the yard was heaven! You'll love this place!

This house is so amazing! It is huge and beautifully furnished. We had 4 families (15 people) stay together in this house and it was perfect. Each couple had a room with a private bath and the children had their own space, they loved the theater room. The house has a very well equipped kitchen and 2 laundry rooms! The view of Lone Peak from the back patio is spectacular! There was even a fox that visited daily. Yellowstone is about an hour away, but there is also so much to do in Big Sky that we were busy everyday... visited the top of Lone Peak, ropes course, fly fishing, white water rafting, zip line, horseback riding and lots of hiking.( We needed a vacation from our vacation.) Thanks for one of the greatest vacations ever!!!

Das Moose Haus was our dreams come true for our family vacation. We were a party of 11 with a variety of ski levels in the party--ages 7-53. EVERYONE had a superb time. The house was awesome! As someone else mentioned in their review, it is exactly like the pictures. Wonderful house, and there is everything you would want in the house. Perfect for 5 couples and some kids. Plenty of space and the view of Lone Peak is amazing. The shuttle service and snow plowing/shoveling was greatly appreciated. We had great snow and both Lone Mountain Ranch and Big Sky skied well. Highly recommend!!

MVC Das Moose Haus
We had 3 families stay here which included kids ages 9 years to 20 years. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We have mostly boys in our group and the basement was PERFECT for them as they just used it as their 'man cave' while the rest of us spent most of our time upstairs enjoying the beautiful view from the deck and relaxing. It was great having two laundry rooms so we could all do laundry and not have to wait. The apartment above the garage worked out well for our 'newlyweds' to have some privacy with their own place to stay. We felt safe in the area to go out walking in the afternoon/evening to see some wildlife and admire the beauty all around. We took two day trips to Yellowstone (about 45 min drive) and we were always so glad to get back to our home to relax and enjoy our place. The kids never ran out of things to do right there at the house and also spent the nights watching movies in the theatre room...a big hit. Any time we had questions or needed help, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and available to answer our questions to help us out...even after hours! I would recommend this house to anyone traveling in the area...it was money very well spent and all of us there agreed that this house was perfect for us. We were all ready to go back shortly after we got back home...a wonderful family vacation for all of us!

Extremely spacious and comfortable. My parents, 4 brothers and our families stayed very comfortably and enjoyed every minute! We played games and billiards, watched movies on a big screen, cooked in a huge wonderful kitchen we all wished we had back home, and ate at a large table or on the spacious patio. The view of the Big Sky Ski Resort Lone Mountain was breath-taking. Activities such as zip-line and hiking were very close by. The owners and caretakers were wonderful hosts, attentive to all our needs, and the price was great! Would recommend to all families.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this super-nice Big Sky home. Everything was even better than the pictures made it look. I felt like we were staying in our own private Orvis lodge! Clean, comfortable, lots of space and nicely furnished, it had it all. The mountain view was spectacular during our fall stay and I can only imagine how nice it would look with snow on the mountains. Great location gives a very private and exclusive feel, yet all the shops and restaurants are just a short hop away. Kirsten, the local contact was super nice and helpful. I will book this home again I'm sure and highly recommend it to anyone going to Big Sky.

My husband and I grew up in Montana but have lived near Chicago our entire married life. We return to Montana often to visit family and friends. We have stayed in Big Sky a number of times over the past years. This past summer we rented Das Moose Haus for 10 days and invited extended family to join us. The property exceeded our expectations in every way. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. The views from the family room of Lone Mountain were spectacular. The open concept kitchen made it very easy and fun to cook and feed the many family members there. The basement was unbelievable with the poker table, pool table and theatre room. We hiked many of the local trails and visited Yellowstone Park as well as Virginia City and Lewis & Clark Caverns. I would highly recommend this property, especially to larger families or groups.

What an incredible property! This was a guy's skiing trip, and the place was perfect for that type of getaway. How's the gorgeous, tons of room, great amenities, and awesome location. Literally the only complaint I have is the advertisement saying it is ski and ski out, it's technically doable, but it's not easy at all. Other than that minor issue, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Close to perfect!
Would stay here again in a heartbeat! We take a family ski trip every year and Das Moose Haus is in the top three. Positives: Awesome views that are not apparent in the pictures. House is really nicer than it appears in the pictures. Lots of room to spread out for our group of ten. Great theater room. Comfortable beds. All electronics work great. Well equipped kitchen. Nice large garage for two suburbans and room to spare. Hot tub was wonderful. Two laundry areas were helpful. Snow plows cleaning the driveway and people shoveling the walkways was helpful. Big Sky vacation rental agency was nice to work with. Negatives: (minor) Little hard to find driveway at night in the snow. Directions could be more specific and the "rock sign" with address 1003 was not visible because it was covered in snow. The wooden sign for the house next door is much more visible and it says 10080 as I recall. The entrance is about 75 feet beyond the first sign that mentions Moonlight ski area. Decor is a little dated but adequate. Again, these things are minor and we would go back in a second!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this super-nice Big Sky home. Everything was even better than the pictures made it look. I felt like we were staying in our own private Orvis lodge! Clean, comfortable, lots of space and nicely furnished, it had it all. The mountain view was spectacular during our fall stay and I can only imagine how nice it would look with snow on the mountains. Great location gives a very private and exclusive feel, yet all the shops and restaurants are just a short hop away. Kirsten, the local contact was super nice and helpful. I will book this home again I'm sure and highly recommend it to anyone going to Big Sky.

Family Vacation at Das Moose Haus
My husband and I grew up in Montana but have lived near Chicago our entire married life. We return to Montana often to visit family and friends. We have stayed in Big Sky a number of times over the past years. This past summer we rented Das Moose Haus for 10 days and invited extended family to join us. The property exceeded our expectations in every way. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. The views from the family room of Lone Mountain were spectacular. The open concept kitchen made it very easy and fun to cook and feed the many family members there. The basement was unbelievable with the poker table, pool table and theatre room. We hiked many of the local trails and visited Yellowstone Park as well as Virginia City and Lewis & Clark Caverns. I would highly recommend this property, especially to larger families or groups.

Great House
We stayed for a short time at Das Moose Haus and it was fabulous! The theatre room and game room was marvelous, and the beds were very comfy. The view off the back deck is wonderful, and the house feels secluded but easily accessible to the road. I would stay again in a heartbeat!
