Big View Retreat is a stunning ski in / ski out mountain retreat situated within Big Sky Resort and offers four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences. Ideally positioned for easy access to world class skiing in winter and endless outdoor adventure in summer, this mountainside chalet is the perfect choice for your next mountain getaway to Big Sky in any season.
Thoughtfully designed across two levels, this home features tons of space and is the ideal choice for families or groups traveling together. The main level features an open concept living area with Western themed furnishings, custom Pendleton seating options, and a plush leather sofa. Enjoy unbeatable slope views centered around a large flat screen TV and a cozy woodburning fireplace. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, a gas range, granite countertops, a copper basin sink, and a wine fridge. A large island offers seating for three at the breakfast bar, while the dining table seats six for meals at home. Sliding glass doors open to a private deck complete with outdoor seating, mountain views, and a propane grill. Dine al fresco, enjoy a morning cup of coffee, or host a fun après ski gathering right off your doorstep.
When it’s time to rest, each bedroom offers comfort and privacy with comfy beds and private ensuite bathrooms. The King Primary Suite on the main level features a flat screen TV, a beautiful stone fireplace, a private balcony, and an ensuite bathroom with dual vanities, a stand up shower, and an oversized walk-in closet. Downstairs, the Second King Suite hosts a flat screen TV, a gas fireplace, patio access, and an ensuite bathroom with dual vanities and a shower/tub combo. A Queen Suite on this level boasts a flat screen TV, generous storage, and an ensuite bathroom with a stand up shower. Also on the lower level, find the Bunk Suite featuring two Twin/Twin bunk beds, a flat screen TV, and a private ensuite bathroom with a stand up shower.
After a day full of adventure, head to the lower level patio and slip into the private bubbling hot tub to relax and unwind under the stars. Ski-Out: From the home onto the slopes
Exit the unit to the rear (or driveway end), and access the groomed trail in front of the building — the “Alpine Meadows” access trail (a green run / access track).
Once on Alpine Meadows, turn left (north) onto that trail. Alpine Meadows will eventually merge into Hideaway, then transitions into Natawista Run, then to Cinnabar Run.
From Cinnabar Run, you can continue downhill to the base — most likely toward the Madison Base area (or another base depending on which lifts you choose), or connect to other lifts for full-mountain access (e.g. beginner terrain or lifts like the “Six Shooter”/“Derringer” area).
Thus you should be able to ski from your door to the base / lifts without needing a car or shuttle — assuming snow and run-conditions are good.
Ski-In: Returning home
When you're done skiing and want to return to 5 Big View Dr:
Use any appropriate lift that ends up near the “Alpine Meadows / Big View access zone”
From the lift unload, ski down to Lazy Jack (or suitable connecting run) to reach the “Cinnabar → Natawista → Alpine Meadows” corridor.
Continue on Natawista Run until it becomes Alpine Meadows (via Hideaway if relevant) — this leads back to the access trail behind the building.
Follow the access trail to the driveway / building entrance — end at 5 Big View Dr.
Important Notes & What to Confirm Before Relying on Ski-In / Ski-Out
The ski-in / ski-out access is weather and snow-condition dependent. Early or late season especially may not guarantee safe or open access.
Maps and trail statuses at the resort (official trail maps) should be consulted each day. The resort publishes a trail & base-area map.
Some lifts and runs close at or before resort closing time (often in late afternoon) — if you’re planning après-ski or evening plans, check lift-closure times carefully (map signage or resort info).

Absolutely Stunning Location!
We loved every minute of our stay here! Check in was super easy and when you walk thru the house and see the views it’s breathtaking. We enjoyed our nights in the hot tub after a day of skiing. The ski in-ski out access was really outstanding & easy. The beds were super comfy, and the linens were very luxurious.
