The home had rustic charm while providing all the modern amenities, exactly the kind of place you hope for when vacationing at a ski resort. I am always concerned the photos make spaces look larger than they actually are, but the photos for this home were accurate. The great room feels very spacious and the fireplace is very impressive! Our stay was delightful at this home. Two families on summer vacation had room and space to spread out, hang out on any of the three decks, or spend great time in conversation and laughs while enjoying the scenic views of Lone Peak Mountain just outside the great room windows.
The location is simply perfect. Walkable route to the base of the resort or to catch a trail for walking and running. Saw wildlife every day from the great room.
We would definitely return and without reservation, recommend to others.

Big Sky Adventure
Wonderful house in a beautiful area. We had six adults and eight children from three different families visiting and never felt cramped or bored. House is beautiful with multiple levels to separate adults and children, as well as games, pool table, hot tub, and hiking. Would visit again in a heartbeat.

Our first time visiting Big Sky and the house did not disappoint! We were walking distance to the lake and mountain village which was really nice. Big Sky town center was about 12-15 minute drive down the mountain. The house itself was really large and accommodated our family really well. The kids loved the hot tub and pool table!
My only issue was the statue in the front yard. It would scare me every single time I walked by the windows.

This is a lovely home with lots of storage and great amenities. The management staff left us plenty of towels to use in the kitchen and bathrooms which was very nice! The check in and check out were a breeze. The views are beautiful, and the home is conveniently located without it being too crowded.

Beautiful space, 5 min drive to mountain village. Great view of lone peak from living room. Ski in ski out requires going down to lift at bottom of low dog rd, and taking ski trail to top of low dog rd. Highly recommend for small and large groups.

MV Big Dog Lodge

What a beautiful home! My family of 6 adults felt very comfortable and at home in this house. The view of the mountain is gorgeous. We had several moose walk up to the living room window and eat some bushes. We relaxed in the hot tub and played pool in the evenings. The home is up a mountain, North of Big Sky. Yellowstone Park is an hour or so from the house. The drives were long but arriving at the house in the evenings was worth it.

We loved it! The view of the mountains is gorgeous! Several moose came up to the den window and in the driveway! The town of Big Sky is South, down the mountain from the house. Big Sky is a very cute town! The 1+ hour drive is long to Yellowstone. But arriving back at night at this Airbnb was wonderful! We used the hot tub and played pool. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms & bathrooms were very nice. What a gorgeous house!

What a wonderful trip! It was my bachelor party and this cabin had more than enough room for all 13 of us! Beautiful cabin, clean space and wonderful amenities. Just a heads up, there is NO A/C (which is common in MT) so if you run hot, just leave the windows open.

We would love to stay here again. This house has it all. Our family really enjoyed it. The views are amazing from the living room. Can't say that enough. Hot tub is large. Kitchen is great and well stocked with cooking items. I could go on and on but the bottom line is that this house was awesome and we would absolutely come back.

MV Big Dog Lodge

We had a great time in this home, and found it to be well provisioned for what we needed and very comfortable for a group of 8 adults and one baby. The kitchen was well supplied and allowed us to do all of our own cooking, which saved a lot of money for a group of our size. The grill and hot tub were also big hits, along with the pool table, and the ability to watch some football on Saturday made the group happy. Overall. we really enjoyed our stay and are considering coming back in the future.

MV Big Dog Lodge

Beautiful home with 4 private bedrooms with baths for each. Our grandchildren loved the queen bunk in the upstairs bedroom. Location was perfect as it’s about 50-60 minute drive to Bozeman Airport and Yellowstone. Five minutes down the mountain one can find groceries at Roxy’s, restaurants, and shopping. Foxes and deer visited the backyard along the stream. Plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking. Really nice not having to worry about garbage as they had plenty of room in the garage with containers. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home!

Tranquil Cabin
We stayed here with a large group, 12 people and a lot of kids. Everyone had ample space and there was a lot to keep everyone busy, from the pool table and Wii to the hot tub and fire pit. The management company provided wood and fire starter as well as heated the hot tub before arrival. Great touches. There is also a small creek in the backyard, we enjoyed hanging out and listening to the running water. Saw multiple elk and deer from our window, and the living room window has an incredible view of lone mountain. Overall great stay, everyone left happy and content.

Lovely Mountain House
This was our first visit to Big Sky and we could not have been happier with the house. It was spacious, very clean and comfortable beds. The seating was perfect for our group and the view of the mountain was incredible. We cannot wait to return.

Big Sky family reunion
Perfect accommodations for our family. Love the bedrooms on different level. 5 small children loved to ski all day come home and played in the snow until dark. Most meals made at this lovely home with so many amenities. Great hot tub. One of my sons left gloves outside on porch and the next morning found one glove chewed on, and the other one was gone. We were able to see fox at least twice. The ski in, ski out worked well even for the littlest ones. Many beautiful memories made.

Amazing house. Came here for a week long ski trip in January and the snow was mediocre when we first arrived and it was still ski in ski out. you just ski down the snow packed road or the side medians. House is super comfy with an amazing view and all the kitchen amenities you need for when you have the post ski "itis". we slept 9 guys in the place all with their own places to stay. could likely fit more comfortably. I'd rent it again. 30 second drive from base lodge, 2 minute ski to lift.

MV Big Dog Lodge

The Big Dog Lodge was perfect for our family of 9. We had 5 adults and 4 children ages 16-9 and there was plenty of room to spread out. The living room with its great views and large fireplace was the perfect spot to hang out together and play games or watch movies. We loved the fact that there were multiple patios/decks on which we spent time enjoying our morning coffee or a glass of wine and watching the sunset. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the boys enjoyed the pool table. The kitchen was well stocked and we made most breakfasts as well as a few dinners for our big group and we had everything we needed. Loved that there was a washer and dryer and plenty of supplies were provided. We really enjoyed the location of the home as well and were able to do a lot of activities offered in the Big Sky area including tour of Yellowstone, Montana whitewater rafting and ziplining, Big Sky Golf, paddle boarding and many hiking trails! We only had a couple of "issues" which the staff helped handle immediately. One was there was a nest of hornets inside (not visible) the flooring of one of the patios but the staff had someone come out and spray the day after we reported the problem. The second was something that I know will be a great memory of this great trip! We actually had a young black bear break into the house and have a little picnic..... :-) It was scary at first as we arrived home to see the evidence of the break in but thankfully the bear was no longer in the house when we arrived. Although, he did come back to the house and everyone was able to get pictures and video of him!! Best souvenir of the trip!! I was able to contact Holly who was great and actually came by to bring some bear spray, make a report to proper authorities and educate us on the realities of life in Big Sky country! All in all this was a great trip and provided our family special time together!!! I would heartily recommend this property to any other family wanting to enjoy this area and spoil themselves with some Montana cabin luxury!!

First class. Easy to check in. Initial supplies were handy. Prompt response when a bear showed up in the kitchen. It was our second time and just as wonderful the second time around!

Great place, Great location! We really enjoyed our stay. A couple of minor things is that we could not figure out how to turn the fire place on. We also could not find any dishwashing soap to leave dishes cleaner nor any paper towels.

Property Manager: Nicole greeted us soon after we moved in to explain operating instructions and even came back to the house to assist after an issue arose she wasn't able to answer by phone. Elaine was always accessible to hear about household concerns and provide a solution on the same day. Property: There are so many game trails near Big Dog Lodge! On our first morning we were treated to the sight of a moose cow and her calf walking down to the river on the trail next to Big Dog. Our webcam captured a bull moose, fox and deer on the trail as well. Although the branch of the Gallatin below the house is not wide, it provides the calming sounds of rushing water from the three decks and the bedrooms.

Property Manager: Very friendly and helpful staff Property: Our party all very much enjoyed our stay at this dream home that can comfortably house 10+ people with all of their mountain gear. The house itself is very spacious with nice finishes and a kitchen that can easily accomodate cooking meals in. The staff was very friendly and made check In/out very easy. Although the house was both accessible and close to the slopes, the ski in/ ski out is somewhat dependant on the snow pack as you either ski on the road or the snowbanks along it. Not a huge deal but something that you should consider since getting to the mountain otherwise requires a car or walking with gear (~5min). We never really figured out the free shuttle system but if you plan to bounce around a bit, renting a vehicle may make sense. I would definitely stay here again. .

Property: My friends and I do a ski trip every year at a different ski resort and always get a nice big house wherever it is. This was without a doubt the nicest house weve ever gotten and honestly cant imagine how it couldve been any better! The Big Dog Lodge was enormous, absolutely perfect for a large group. We cooked almost every meal at the house and had plenty of plates, cookware, utensils and everything needed to accommodate a large group. The appliances were top notch, they had a very big and nice Weber grill, huge dining room table, and tons of couch seating in the living room. The TV was huge, and the stereo system was fantastic and very easy to use. All of the beds were very comfortable and the showers were great. After a long day on the slopes the hot tub might be the most important thing in the house and the one at this house was the biggest Ive ever seen, plus its literally one step from the door (really nice not to have to walk far through the snow). The pool table and dart board were a really nice bonus too. The ski-in/ski-out access was super convenient, the ski-in part requires going down a blue run but its not a very difficult blue (silver knife) and the ski-out access was awesome, down a very easy slope right to the lift (I dont think the slope was rated but definitely the equivalent of a green run). Overall this house was just amazing, if youre considering going to Big Sky you should 100% stay at this house. I know my group and I will definitely be back and wont be thinking twice about where to stay!

Property: Exquisite Mountain Retreat. These Snowboarders loved it! We chose Big Dog Lodge for my husband's 50th Birthday family retreat. The feel of the lodge is exactly how you picture it...huge comfy family areas, excellent location, stunning fireplaces and views of Lone Peak. I would stay here again and again. An excellent travel approach is to fly into Bozeman a day early and stay at The Lark. This allows for no-fuss travel delays during winter storms so we do not pay for an expensive rental we are not using. It gives our gear (which is frequently left off of flights) a day to catch up. We started off with Private Chef Matthew Fritz for our arrival dinner. He was amazing! He even dabbled in some vegan cooking and baking to wow our daughter. The incredibly thoughtful gesture was impressive. I highly recommend him for one or more meals (he even does drop off dinners). OzSsage came to the house for messages as well, and both masseuses were professional and pleasant. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of fantastic pillows, and this is the first ski rental in 10 years that had excellent climate control in all areas of the house. No overheating. It was perfect! The kitchen was well stocked. K-Cup coffee makers are incredible in a ski rental, and this is the first time we have had one. The Platinum Collection features were a valuable asset, and the staff at BSVR, Elaine especially, was attentive and accommodating. Sarah at Blue Print Travel helped with some concierge arrangements and we were grateful for her expertise. The house is easy and cozy-feeling for its size. As snowboarders, I dropped the family off at the base, and I took the short walk and trail to Thunder Wolf Ski Lift each day. The Snowboard In was a piece of cake from the bottom of Silver Knife. Short walks are easy in Board Boots. Skiers likely enjoy nearly full ski in and ski out. A favorite highlight was the Dinner at Everett's 8800. That is an unmissable experience, especially in the spring, when you can watch the sunset during the cocktail hour. Our whole family is a huge fan of Andesite Mountain for snowboarding, preferring it over Madison. The runs are very snowboard friendly...no annoying traverses and stall-outs on the Blue Runs. Elk Park Ridge, Elk Park Meadows and Big Horn were favorites. Silver Knife is excellent for getting home, Tippy's Tumble is great for getting to Ramcharger Lift, and a bowl of Elk Chili and a glass of wine at 3:15 pm at Everett's before heading down on an empty mountain at last call was the rarest of treats. Next trip, we will venture more on the Lone side. We ate most meals at the house since the place was too fantastic to leave. Previous visits we found Moonlight Basin Lodge and Buck's T4 to be excellent dining options. Blue Moon delivered a great pizza to the house for the kids. We usually provision at Costco in Bozeman before heading up the mountain. It is especially perfect for wine, soups and munchies. Hungry Moose and Roxy's have plenty of provisions, otherwise. We are always grateful for people who share their perfect retreats so we can enjoy them, and we extend heartfelt gratitude for an absolutely perfect vacation to all of Big Sky.

Property: Best house we have rented in 10 years- Every year we have a college reunion at a ski town. This was the best house we have ever stayed in. It was very spacious, clean, and convenient. The kitchen had more than enough cookware and utensils- they even had 3 crock pots! The extra fridge in the garage was nice for storing drinks. The lay out was perfect - it allowed some privacy still even if thought we had 14 adults. The hot tub was one of the highlights as well- allowed us to fit more people than the usual 4-6. The rental company was very helpful as well, they showed up and walked us through how to use everything. The internet wasn't working at first (for the first 30 minutes) but they showed up and fixed it right away. Great house- highly recommend. oh and how could I forget- very accessible to the ski resort. We skied in and skied out every day!

It is a short walk to the lift and you are right at the main resort. The teenagers in our group loved the pool table and downstairs game room. Property: Big Dog Lodge is Amazing! This gorgeous log home was the best choice for a family of 8. We could ski down the road to the Thunderwolf lift in the mornings easily and ski back via the Bear Back poma lift too. My family loved this place and we will always cherish these memories. The large great room was fun for everyone to hang out in and the kids liked the lower level because of the games and pool table. The views of the Spanish Peaks off the back decks are spectacular and we couldn't have asked for a better home. Big Sky Vacation Rentals is a good company to rent from and they will help you with whatever you need. We will definitely be back!

The website with pictures and details was also accurate., Property: Well-designed house with nice furniture, good views, and a good location. Loved sleeping to the sound of a rushing river down below. It was just loud enough where it did not interfere with sleep. There are also some hungry little brook and cutthroat trout in that stream.

Extremely comfortable stay. House is huge well appointed with lots of conveniences. Loved the pool table and luxury hot tub. The owners might want to consider modifying the VRBO listing to indicate that, while it is ski-in, it is not exactly ski-out. There's sort of a ski-path along the road on the snow bank, but it would require you taking your skis off maybe five times when you cross folks' driveways. We ended up just walking, and it's quite a long walk to the trail that takes you to the Thunder Wolf liftmaybe 1/3 of a mile.

We had a fantastic family vacation at the Big Dog Lodge! The house is spacious, very well equipped and has beautiful views of Lone Peak. There is a nice walk to the lake and resort area to enjoy all the activities. The management was very responsive to our requests and made sure we had everything we needed. We would gladly stay again! The only item to note is that you can hear the traffic from the road across the street, so it’s not super quiet when out on the deck. There’s quite a bit of construction (and thus large trucks) going on this summer, so that might be the reason.

Home enhanced our stay
We absolutely loved our stay here. Our 3 year old grandson said he didn't want to leave and wanted this house to be his house! I rented this home based on the living area spaciousness and views. They did not disappoint. Gorgeous view of lone peak from the living room and we had so much room to lounge. The decks were great(3) views of the treed hillside and creek. Location was a good with proximity to resort and also a short drive to town. We enjoyed the hot tub and everything about the home. One of the hair dryers did not work but there were 3 others available. I think our stay was so enjoyabe because we had such a nice place to come home to. Rent this home with confidence.

Also, I had some trouble with the heat in my bedroom, which didn’t cool down below the mid-70s all night, so I ended up leaving the window open all night. But in all these were pretty minor inconveniences. The house really is great.

Great House!
We had a large group and the house was just perfect. Good sized rooms and space enough for everyone. The location was great and the views of Lone Peak were fantastic from the living room. It is a short walk to the lift and you are right at the main resort. The teenagers in our group loved the pool table and downstairs game room. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a great house with a great location.
