great ski-in/ski-out cabin
The cabin is gorgeous and very convenient. The interior is comfortable and well appointed for a family. It is truly ski-in and ski-out with a ski trail going right past the porch and hot tub to the Iron Horse lift. The expansive view from other, higher-up cabins is obstructed by trees, but it still feels like a secluded, high alpine setting. We had a wonderful time and would return.

GREAT STAY AT COWBOY CABIN!!
Overall a 10 vacation - The cabin was great...the ski in & out was great...the weather was great. My only complaint is about the cleaning solution that the maids use. It is very strong and messed with me for the first day or so. Other than that, everything was great. We had a great time!!!!!!

Amazing Ski Vacation
We had the best time staying here. There were two families with young kids and it was worth packing in. Beyond the ski and ski out, the kids had a great time playing in the snow and watching the snow cat drive by! Would absolutely recommend and we hope to stay here again.

Cowboy Heaven cabins are pricey, but convenient
We've stayed in the Cowboy Heaven area to ski Big Sky three times and enjoy it very much. The prices have gone up substantially, but it is probably worth it for the privacy and convenience of being true ski-in/ski-out on mountain (just off Powder River and easy access to Iron Horse Quad). The hot tub is a nice amenity -- bring grippy slippers to avoid frozen feet! The kitchen and dishwasher make it easy to enjoy your own meals at a table for six. The two bunk beds seem a bit crammed in, but probably okay for four children who don't care about any privacy and don't need much space. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE is a must because the neighborhood roads are snowy, curvy and steep. Big Sky Rentals property management is both efficient and professional -- if perhaps a bit corporate and cold in their communication frequency and style. Washer dryer is great amenity for easy packing at the end of trip. Go to Roxy's for pretty upscale groceries in town and walk across the parking lot for good beer at Beehive Basin Brewery. Wine and liquor across the parking lot at The Cave Spirits & Gifts.

This was out second stay at this Cowboy Heaven Cabin in the Moonlight Basin and it was even better than we remembered. An idyllic location hidden away where you feel essentially on your own in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Couldn't have been happier and we will certainly be back.

Great ski access in Moonlight Basin. Lack of a Montana mountain view was a disappointment compared to other properties nearby. Cabin was a little small for our family of four. Property was fairly clean, but will need some updating soon to stay on par with other options.

Our cabin was comfortable, cozy, and had many amenities. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back again! One word of advice, be sure to double-check the address with the host - AirBnB doesn't list the correct address of the cabins and instead gives you the address for the rental office. It wasn't a big deal because we got the address easily from the host, but just something to know ahead of time.

Perfect ski in/ski out location to avoid any crowds at the main base village, dealing with parking, etc. Inside was comfortable, clean, and well stocked.  Cozy, exactly as shown, enjoyed the hot tub, nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Bunk room a bit tight for 4 adults (we had 4 early 30's kids with us, so they didn't mind too much), but we knew it would be when we booked it). Ski out was simple, ski in took a few times to figure it out! Smooth check-in and check-out, and trash collection.

Cute and cozy cabin with amazing views
This was just what we were looking for! From the views to the decor to the supplies (laundry, cookware, grill, hot tub etc!) we had everything we needed. I was so surprised how big the cabin was on the inside, as looking from the outside it can be deceiving. This is also my second time booking at cowboy heaven cabins, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in big sky!

The Moonlight area in Big Sky experience a power outage the last full day of our stay. My wife was in the cabin doing work and called the property management folks and left a message. Never got a call back. I was on the mountain skiing and found out talking to ski patrol that an underground electrical line was broke during some construction. I made my way back to the cabin and we decided to packup and leave since we had no word on how long the outage was expected to be. Just as we were leaving the power come on . I called the property management folks and finally got a rep. I asked for a refund for the night (or at least partial) and the person said they would get back to me after talking to management. Never did get a call. We decided to leave since all of stuff was packed up and didn't feel like doing unloading an then loading again the next morning. The bottom line was lack of responsiveness and follow through by the property management folks on multiple messages and requests for information and a refund.

This cabin is very cozy and was very clean. It is a ski out and you have to walk a short distance to ski in. It was great that it was stocked with all of the basic amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It had nice shampoo and soap in the bathrooms as well. The hot tub was was very nice and clean and we enjoyed daily visits from the red fox while sitting in the hot tub. The bunk room was great for kids. It does lack storage in this room. The cabin comfortably sleeps 6, but could accommodate 8 if you all like to be cozy. It is nice that it has a keyless entry. There are nice views from the cabin and the back deck is quaint. The management company was very nice and helpful in the booking process and upon check in. The check in process is very easy as well. We would definitely return to this cabin.

I was anticipating that the pictures on the website over exaggerated the cabin, but I was wrong. The unit is a perfect size for 4-6 people (6 max, realistically) and is located in an unbelievable location on the mountain. Ski out access is 48 inches from the front door - literally the first step off the porch - and the views of the resort and the valley are amazing. Ski in requires a hike of about 100 feet if the snow cover is low, otherwise it appears that you could ski in if the mountain has a decent base. Kirsten and her team were very helpful and accommodating to our needs and recommended some great spots to visit around Big Sky. Went with 5 other guys for our annual ski week and the cabin was exactly what we were looking for - most definitely would book this same property again!

Really a great spot - has a genuine mountain cabin feel because it is the real thing! Technically is not ski in but is definitely ski out . You'll have to remove your gear and walk to the cabin to ski in. We just LOVED staying here.

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay in this rustic cabin. We had everything we needed and more. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had a fox visit us several nights and on the last night he even sat down as if posing for pictures. The whole resort was very well-maintained and very beautiful. The views, even with the smoke from the Idaho fires, were incredible. One of also appreciated the steep hilly roads within the resort as walking them every morning was a great form of exercise--huffing and puffing!

The Rustic Ridge cabin was spacious and very clean. We stayed for five days but could have stayed a month since it felt like home with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our three little boys. The hot tub, washer/dryer and the views were the cherry on the sundae. Kirsten and Kris were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cowboy Heaven #7 cabin for our Big Sky ski trip in March. Cabin was very clean, lit and fireplace was roaring when we arrived. The bunk room was great for our three kids. There was some food left in the refrigerator and cupboards which came in handy. The ski access was right in front of our cabin which made it very convenient. Hot tub was cleaned before our arrival and was a great end to the day after hours on the slopes. We also had some packages delivered that the managers brought to us right away. Very accommodating. It was a great place to spend a family vacation and have tons of skiing at your fingertips!

The on-line pictures do not accurately depict spacious interior of this very comfortable ski in and out cabin. This place was way more spacious that we envisioned. It was just loaded with all the amenities needed in the kitchen and the other essentials to keep you comfortable. We cooked killer rib dinner inside then outside on the grill. The tub was primo, clean and kept at the perfect temperature to take on the daily muscle beatings handed out by the heavenly powder. The Iron Horse lift was exactly 21 seconds away at full tilt, and opened precisely on time everyday! The way home was just slightly more challenging, and we made it door to door everyday without taking our skis off until we were on the porch. The staff of Big Sky Rentals, what can we say other than very personal, friendly, and helpful. They answered every question we had. We will be back to Big Sky next year, so look for us in the tub and on the slopes!

Description was right on target with this great cabin with the exception of the many extras not emphasized. The hot tub was clean and maintained regularly along with the interior of the cabin. All the necessities were included in the kitchen along with plenty of extra bedding. Kirsten provided a warm welcome with personal touches that go beyond most rentals. Her attention to detail and customer satisfaction will surely make us a repeat customer. Our family of four enjoyed the ski access and look forward to another visit to Moonlight Basin next year.

These little chalets are very comfortable, and well equipped. Drive up, park in the front, and ski out the back. The beds were super-comfortable as well, and the hot-tub at the end of the day was perfect. In addition, Kirsten was very professional, and the transaction went very smooth. Our favorite family vacation! We are a family of four (with 2 small children) and this cabin was *perfect* for us. A family with four kids of any age could easily fit - as the bunk beds are very spacious. The cabin was clean, cozy, functional and comfortable. Ski in / Ski out access was wonderful - my husband and I even skied home for lunch one or two days. Hot tub was clean (water changed before our arrival) and served as our private pool for the week. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and even some spices! We ate in every evening - so we cannot comment on local cuisine. We felt welcomed immediately upon arrival - our property manager gave us a walk through of the cabin, a notebook with contact and area information, and even loaned us her camping grill for the week! (Very thoughtful.) We would absolutely stay here again and hope to do so in the (near) future. If you've ever wanted to be in a cozy log cabin in a ski venue - this is it. Truly....it's awesome.

The cabin was awesome. There were five adults in my group and room for a couple more. The cabin is very convenient to the lodge at moonlight basin, less than a minute by skis, right off the front porch. We ate in for all of our meals and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans, and dishes. The property managers are fantastic. They responded immediately to any requests and went above and beyond. Someone came by every morning and shoveled the snow from the porch and sidewalks. If ever in the big sky area again we will definitely stay here.

Great location - we will be back next ski season! This is a ski-out location that we were able to ski into everyday we were there (if the parking area isn't snow covered you would have to walk across about 50' of pavement and past one other cabin). Nice place - everything was great!

Cowboy Heaven Cabin 7 Rustic Ridge
This little cabin is extremely well laid out, with plenty of room for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens.) They supplied everything we could possibly need, the furniture is all super comfy, the hot tub felt fantastic after a day of skiing...all in all, this place is wonderful. The ski-in/ski out was great and easy to navigate. Highly recommend this cute cabin!

It is hard with COVID but there were some maintenance issues. It would be great if they can figure out something with Moonlight Basin Lodge so there is access to restaurant and apre options.

Very nice property
Property was perfect for our needs. The hot tub may not be hot for your use the first night, but they make that well known in advance. The fireplace was not working, but they added space heaters to offset the fireplace. Ski in ski out was pretty easy. Enjoyable.

We loved the communication Rustic Cowboy Cabins had with us. When we arrived late the lights were on for us which made it much easier when arriving. The information that they provide in the cabins is great, location is absolutely beautiful, friendly staff, clean cabins. We are looking forward to brining more family members next time we stay.

Great cabin on a great mountain
Awesome cabin, exactly as described in the listing. Well stocked on all household goods. The only caveat was the cabin wasn't exactly "ski-in" as advertised, as the access required taking gear off and walking across the street. One can definitely "ski-out" though. Would definitely stay again.

Great cabin
Great cabin for a good price. Cabin easily slept 5 grown men. Kitchen was was well equipped. We cooked breakfast a dinner everyday. Good grill. Cabin is a true ski out. Ski in requires a short 100ft walk across culdesac. The road was plowed regularly but a 4x4 vehicle is very useful.

Cozy Cabin
This cabin is very cozy and was very clean. It is a ski out, but you have to walk a short distance to ski in. I agree with previous review comments that it would be nice if a path was cleared to the cabin as if the snow is deep it could be a bit more challenging. It was great that it was stocked with all of the basic amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It had nice shampoo and soap in the bathrooms as well. The hot tub was was very nice and clean and we enjoyed daily visits from the red fox while sitting in the hot tub. The bunk room was great for kids. It does lack storage in this room. The cabin comfortably sleeps 6, but could accommodate 8 if you all like to be cozy. It is nice that it has a keyless entry. The kitchen doesn't have a lot of cups or silverware. There are nice views from the cabin and the back deck is quaint. The management company was very nice and helpful in the booking process and upon check in. The check in process is very easy as well. We would definitely return to this cabin.

Cozy cabin in the mountains!
Really a great spot - has a genuine mountain cabin feel because it is the real thing! Technically is not "ski in" but is definitely "ski out". You'll have to remove your gear and walk to the cabin to ski in (property should clear a path from ski run to road). Bunk room needs more storage / place to hang clothes but that's just a small inconvenience. Keep in mind, if it's snowy there's no garage however we just LOVED staying here.

Family Vacation at Cowboy Heaven
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay in this rustic cabin. We had everything we needed and more. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had a fox visit us several nights and on the last night he even sat down as if posing for pictures. The whole resort was very well-maintained and very beautiful. The views, even with the smoke from the Idaho fires, were incredible. One of also appreciated the steep hilly roads within the resort as walking them every morning was a great form of exercise--huffing and puffing!

Amazing Cabin in Cowboy Heaven
The Rustic Ridge cabin was spacious and very clean. We stayed for five days but could have stayed a month since it felt like home with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our three little boys. The hot tub, washer/dryer and the views were the cherry on the sundae. Kirsten and Kris were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Comfortable SKI In OUT Place In Big Sky - We enjoyed it!
The on-line pictures do not accurately depict spacious interior of this very comfortable ski in and out cabin. This place was way more spacious that we envisioned. It was just loaded with all the amenities needed in the kitchen and the other essentials to keep you comfortable. We cooked killer rib dinner inside then outside on the grill. The tub was primo, clean and kept at the perfect temperature to take on the daily muscle beatings handed out by the heavenly powder. The Iron Horse lift was exactly 21 seconds away at full tilt, and opened precisely on time everyday! The way home was just slightly more challenging, and we made it door to door everyday without taking our skis off until we were on the porch. The staff of Big Sky Rentals, what can we say other than very personal, friendly, and helpful. They answered every question we had. We will be back to Big Sky next year, so look for us in the tub and on the slopes!

Cowboy Heaven #7 great!
We really enjoyed our stay at Cowboy Heaven #7 cabin for our Big Sky ski trip in March. Cabin was very clean, lit and fireplace was roaring when we arrived. The bunk room was great for our three kids. There was some food left in the refrigerator and cupboards which came in handy. The ski access was right in front of our cabin which made it very convenient. Hot tub was cleaned before our arrival and was a great end to the day after hours on the slopes. We also had some packages delivered that the managers brought to us right away. Very accommodating. There were a couple little issues, which we reported, but overall was it was a great place to spend a family vacation and have tons of skiing at your fingertips!

First ski vacation will be hard to beat!
Description was right on target with this great cabin with the exception of the many extras not emphasized. The hot tub was clean and maintained regularly along with the interior of the cabin. All the necessities were included in the kitchen along with plenty of extra bedding. Kirsten provided a warm welcome with personal touches that go beyond most rentals. Her attention to detail and customer satisfaction will surely make us a repeat customer. Our family of four enjoyed the ski access and look forward to another visit to Moonlight Basin next year.

Best value in Big Sky
These little chalets are very comfortable, and well equipped. Drive up, park in the front, and ski out the back. The beds were super-comfortable as well, and the hot-tub at the end of the day was perfect. In addition, Kirsten was very professional, and the transaction went very smooth. Missing Montana
Our favorite family vacation! We are a family of four (with 2 small children) and this cabin was *perfect* for us. A family with four kids of any age could easily fit - as the bunk beds are very spacious. The cabin was clean, cozy, functional and comfortable. Ski in / Ski out access was wonderful - my husband and I even skied home for lunch one or two days. Hot tub was clean (water changed before our arrival) and served as our private pool for the week. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and even some spices! We ate in every evening - so we cannot comment on local cuisine. We felt welcomed immediately upon arrival - our property manager gave us a walk through of the cabin, a notebook with contact and area information, and even loaned us her camping grill for the week! (Very thoughtful.) We would absolutely stay here again and hope to do so in the (near) future. If you've ever wanted to be in a cozy log cabin in a ski venue - this is it. Truly....it's awesome.

The cabin was awesome. There were five adults in my group and room for a couple more. The cabin is very convenient to the lodge at moonlight basin, less than a minute by skis, right off the front porch. We ate in for all of our meals and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans, and dishes. The property managers are fantastic. They responded immediately to any requests and went above and beyond. Someone came by every morning and shoveled the snow from the porch and sidewalks. If ever in the big sky area again we will definitely stay here.
