Ski in and out was very easy! I almost thought the directions made it sound more complicated than it was. Ski out is really easy, load up behind the house, cross the road directly in front of you to a path that lines up with the back of the house. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great Experience
The cabin is excellent, with beautiful views, a great location, good management.The ski-in/out involves flat sections. The ski-in instructions are outdated. Use the Playground run or take an immediate right off of Bozeman and you'll avoid a lot, but not all, of the flat sections. The best ski-in trail is apparently newly constructed, is NOT visible on the resort maps and is not mentioned in the written ski-in instructions.

Great Location

Property: excellent rental! house was in perfect condition, clean with everything you could need. Very comfortable, plenty of blankets and pillows. did not try to reach rental company while I was there, did not need anything. I have rented a lot of places for family vacations and this was the nicest by far. Best place in big sky, Montana to rent. Staff was great in arranging rental. Property: These accommodations surpassed our highest expectations!! This is a spacious and comfortable home with a well-thought-through floor plan. We had eight adults and four children six and younger in our party and no one was ever in the others' way. The scenery is FABULOUS. The staff who assisted us in making these reservations were above and beyond helpful. The home is so well-stocked with necessities and incidentals. It's like living in your own home. All you need to bring is food and the desire to have a good time. We had a couple of nice fires in the fire place grilled on the deck and had crock-pot meals. The number of televisions allow everyone to watch what they desire...if you have down time during your vacation. THANKS for your key role in making our 40th wedding anniversary such a pleasant memory.

Property: Fantastic Rental, fantastic rental company! We had a wonderful stay at Little Shadow Catcher in July 2011. We are a family of five that wanted to go out west . From the very first time I contacted Kirsten she was helpful and friendly. As she is also a mother of three I felt like I had a girlfriend with the inside scoop on Big Sky. Every e-mail or phone call was answered promptly, and with all the info I asked for. Her company didn't just rent me a place...they helped our family have a great vacation - suggestions on things to do, places to eat, the best companies to do business with, etc. As for the house, Little Shadow Catcher, it was fantastic! Spacious, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. I've rented a few homes and have never been given things like laundry detergent, starter soap & shampoo, trash bags, tin foil/plastic wrap, paper towels, etc. All we had to buy was food! From the outside this looks like a little log cabin, but there is tons of room inside! You can easily sleep two, possibly three, families in this home (easily two families with kids and a set of grandparents!). The first floor has a lovely living room and the basement has an additional living space (family room) with a Wii for the kids! We were all so comfortable in this home - soft sheets & towels, a grill on the deck, a hot tub, fireplace, an office nook for your laptop, Wi-fi, and six televisions! No-one missed home because we were all very comfortable there. There's lots to do in the Big Sky area: we went horseback riding, white water rafting, zip-lining, high-ropes course, rode the scenic chairlift at the resort, visited Yellowstone two days, and did lots of fishing! There are a lot more activities like mountain-biking & tubing on the rivers that we did not have enough time to do. I'm running out of space so I'll wrap this up by saying the home was perfect, and Big Sky Vacation Rentals is a great company to do business with...we will be calling again the next time we go to Big Sky!

Property: Excellent experience at Powder Ridge Cabin- Our group of ski friends rented this unit 2/2011 and we enjoyed our week long stay immensely. We are a picky group, accustomed to very nice accommodations when we ski, and this cabin did not disappoint. Despite some frigid temps and lots of snow, the place was warm and cozy. The ski-out, ski-in to Big Sky was pretty easy, and the skiing was excellent. The cabin is in excellent shape, nice amenities, good location, with a nice view of the sunrise from the deck, and though we did not use the hot tub due to the weather, it looked very nice and inviting. The kitchen has a good array of pots/pans/dishes and that is a big help as we made most of our own meals (which I strongly recommend if you stay for more than a few days). You should have a 4WD vehicle, as the roads in the area can be tough after a big snow. Kirsten King and her associates are very nice to work with, gave us a personal tour/intro to the cabin, were very helpful with suggestions for places to go and things to do, and overall provided us with a very professional, positive experience. We would not hesitate to stay in this unit again, and hope to on our next trip to Big Sky.

Property: Great Place to stay and enjoy Big Sky- We (my spouse and 3 adult children - plenty of space for all) stayed at this Powder Ridge cabin for about two weeks over the Christmas holiday. Not a difficult ski-out to (less than 15 minutes to base area) and very easy ski-in from Big Sky resort (I'm a blue run skier). Management team was extremely pleasant and very accommodating - they even helped me by accepting delivery of Christmas presents that I had shipped. Cabin was very clean and well equipped (including wireless internet and satellite TV). Location also very convenient to Moonlight Basin resort although we did not ski there this year - we dined at Moonlight - good food and great atmosphere - a couple of times including Christmas Eve and had no problem with roads which were routinely cleared of snow each day.

Excellent furnishings and finishes, close to the mountain village and a short ride to the Meadows and all that goes on down there. I'd always wanted to stay in the Rocky mountain area in the summer. I had plenty of opportunities in which to snow ski in the winter, so when a summer week in the Big Sky Log Cabin opened up my husband, I, and some friends grabbed it. What a lovely log cabin with a beautiful interior! There is nothing rustic about it except by design. The beds were comfortable. The house had plenty of space for everyone including the kids who had their own bunkroom. The furniture was beautiful and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the necessary dishes and utensils. We hiked most everyday and appreciated the fact that the house was close enough to Yellowstone. We were able to take a day trip using the west entrance. What a great trip!

We loved the location, amenities and overall comfort of Powder Ridge 118. We brought two extra vaporizers with us but that was not needed since there was one in every room. Everything to make our ski vacation was in the cabin pots, pans, dishes, essentials in all the bathrooms and a full size washer and dryer. We had our traditional meals of tacos, spaghetti, chicken and pizza and had all the necessary equipment in the kitchen. We had a wonderful dinner out at Lone Mountain Ranch and Buck's T4, the trip to Big Sky is not complete until we dine at both of those restaurants. We took a day off from skiing and went to Yellowstone on a snowmobile adventure. We used Two Top rentals and had a terrific guide, Conrad. Do not miss this experience. Wild life and natural beauty. While the kids stayed on the mountain my husband and I cross country skied at the Lone Mountain Ranch. We will be back!

My family and friends have now had the privilege of staying in four different Powder Ridge properties, and this property lived up to its billing with ease. We had a gr8t week at PR 118! The property was immaculate and perfectly suited to our needs the teens took over the lower level den and had fun with the gaming system. We could ski out to the White Otter lift via easy access trails - even for this green slope mom who doesn't try to keep up with the teens who ski the entire property. We alternated between cooking a night (the kitchen had it all) and eating out. Big Sky has great pizza and local ambience at Milkie's, and the Snow-cat ride to dinner in a yurt was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Ice climbing with a guide at Hyalite Canyon was a dream come true. This cabin was the perfect place to return to as a home-base for any Big Sky adventures. We didn't want to leave. We had a wonderful stay at Little Shadow Catcher in July 2011. We are a family of five that wanted to go out west . From the very first time I contacted Kirsten she was helpful and friendly. As she is also a mother of three I felt like I had a girlfriend with the inside scoop on Big Sky. Every e-mail or phone call was answered promptly, and with all the info I asked for. Her company didn't just rent me a place....they helped our family have a great vacation - suggestions on things to do, places to eat, the best companies to do business with, etc. As for the house, Little Shadow Catcher, it was fantastic! Spacious, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. I've rented a few homes and have never been given things like laundry detergent, starter soap & shampoo, trash bags, tin foil/plastic wrap, paper towels, etc. All we had to buy was food! From the outside this looks like a little log cabin, but there is tons of room inside! You can easily sleep two, possibly three, families in this home (easily two families with kids and a set of grandparents!). The first floor has a lovely living room and the basement has an additional living space (family room) with a Wii for the kids! We were all so comfortable in this home - soft sheets & towels, a grill on the deck, a hot tub, fireplace, an office nook for your laptop, WI-FI, and six televisions! No-one missed home because we were all very comfortable there. There's lots to do in the Big Sky area: we went horseback riding, white water rafting, zip-lining, high-ropes course, rode the scenic chairlift at the resort, visited Yellowstone two days, visited Chico Hot Springs, and did lots of fishing! There are a lot more activities like mountain-biking & tubing on the rivers that we did not have enough time to do. I'm running out of allotted characters so I'll wrap this up by saying the home was perfect, and Big Sky Vacation Rentals is a great company to do business with.....we will be calling again the next time we go to Big Sky!

The best place we have ever stayed! We were made to feel at home from the minute we walked in the door! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Anytime anything was needed, they were right there to take care of it! Definately would love to stay there again! Didn't get a park pass, but that was okay, worth the stay without it! We stayed here with our grandma's and grandkids! Absolutely perfect! The grandkids had the downstairs all to themselves, grandma's had the main level, and we had the upstairs all to ourselves! This cabin is everything it says it is, and the staff do everything it says they do! We were made to feel so welcome the minute we walked into the door, and anytime there was something that needed attended to, they were right there!! Looking at the pic's makes me want to stay there again! The private hot tub and deck were a huge bonus! We absolutely enjoyed our stay there! My family took a vacation with 3 other families. Between the 4 families we have 6 kids under the age of 3, and the cabin was large enough (and comfortable enough) to meet our needs. Kris was very helpful checking us in and even let us borrow her personal child carrier for hiking during our stay. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and also take their naps. We stayed a few nights during the week in the summer and it felt like we had the mountain to ourselves. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of our cooking needs (on top of pots and pans we even had some peanut butter, hot chocolate mix, sugar, etc.). The trip ended up being even better than we had anticipated, and all of the families would like to go back again.

Our group of ski friends rented this unit 2/2011 and we enjoyed our week long stay immensely. We are a picky group, accustomed to very nice accommodations when we ski, and this cabin did not disappoint. Despite some frigid temps and lots of snow, the place was warm and cozy. The ski-out, ski-in to Big Sky was pretty easy, and the skiing was excellent. The cabin is in excellent shape, nice amenities, good location, with a nice view of the sunrise from the deck, and though we did not use the hot tub due to the weather, it looked very nice and inviting. The kitchen has a good array of pots/pans/dishes and that is a big help as we made most of our own meals (which I strongly recommend if you stay for more than a few days). You should have a 4WD vehicle, as the roads in the area can be tough after a big snow. Kirsten King and her associates are very nice to work with, gave us a personal tour/intro to the cabin, were very helpful with suggestions for places to go and things to do, and overall provided us with a very professional, positive experience. We would not hesitate to stay in this unit again, and hope to on our next trip to Big Sky.

We (my spouse and 3 adult children - plenty of space for all) stayed at this Powder Ridge cabin for about two weeks over the Christmas holiday. Not a difficult ski-out to (less than 15 minutes to base area) and very easy ski-in from Big Sky resort (I'm a blue run skier). Management team was extremely pleasant and very accommodating - they even helped me by accepting delivery of Christmas presents that I had shipped. Cabin was very clean and well equipped (including wireless internet and satellite TV). Location also very convenient to Moonlight Basin resort although we did not ski there this year - we dined at Moonlight - good food and great atmosphere - a couple of times including Christmas Eve and had no problem with roads which were routinely cleared of snow each day.

We have stayed at this particular residence a few times and every time it seems to get better. The home is clean, has great decor, well kept, has all the amenities (everything from the soap to the DVD player) to keep everyone happy, and convenient to plenty of activities. Restaurants are nearby and great activities (skiing, snow-shoeing, fly-fishing in warmer season, Yellowstone) are easy to get to and easy to reserve the cabin is quiet and comfortable whether we (family) go alone or with another family. The kitchen is nicely laid out - we use it primarily for breakfasts - especially considering MR Hummers (great restaurant!!) is such an easy drive from the house (the resort will even pick us up if we don't want to drive ourselves)! We will be back this year at least once!

The cabin was warm and cozy, yet plenty of room for 3 couples with a child. There is even a separate bunk room for the kids! The beds were great and plenty of room in each bedroom for all of your ski gear. There is even an outside locked storage area for your skis and poles. Every couple had their own bathroom. The hot tub was easy to use. Everynight we would gather together for a sit down dinner. The kitchen is well designed and easy for two cooks to work around. There is plenty of storage space for what ever food you might bring. Pots, pans, dishes, and utensils are provided. The place was very clean and well maintained. I loved the access to the Big Sky slopes, an easy ski to the local chair lift. Make sure you get a map and/or directions before you head back. Once you get off the ski slopes, the trip back to the cabin is a gentle down hill all the way, so remember to keep you speed up as you glide back to the cabin. Overall we all had a great time. It was great staying on the mountain. One day we stayed home and played in the snow, building snow men and hanging out by the fire. It was a wonderful trip.

Skiing out was easier than skiing in but both were easy once you figure out the route. All the bedrooms/bathrooms were very nice and comfortable. There was more than enough space for us. excellent rental! house was in perfect condition, clean with everything you could need. Very comfortable, plenty of blankets and pillows. did not try to reach rental company while I was there, did not need anything. Annual Ski Trip
A group of us having been taking an annual trip for over 10 years, and typically book through VRB0. This cabin was perfect for our group of 6, and it was exactly as described. Unlike some others that have been advertised as ski in/ski out, this rental truly was. The cabin was updated and well stocked, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back!

Family Vacation in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary
These accommodations surpassed our highest expectations!! This is a spacious and comfortable home with a well-thought-through floor plan. We had eight adults and four children six and younger in our party; and no one was ever in the others' way. The scenery is FABULOUS. The staff who assisted us in making these reservations were above and beyond helpful. The home is so well-stocked with necessities and incidentals. It's like living in your own home. All you need to bring is food and the desire to have a good time. We had a couple of nice fires in the fire place; grilled on the deck; and had crockpot meals. The number of televisions allow everyone to watch what they desire...if you have "down time" during your vacation. big sky summer
I’d always wanted to stay in the Rocky mountain area in the summer. I had plenty of opportunities in which to snow ski in the winter, so when a summer week in the Big Sky Log Cabin opened up my husband, I, and some friends grabbed it. What a lovely log cabin with a beautiful interior! There is nothing rustic about it except by design. The beds were comfortable. The house had plenty of space for everyone including the kids who had their own bunkroom. The furniture was beautiful and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the necessary dishes and utensils. We hiked most everyday and appreciated the fact that the house was close enough to Yellowstone. We were able to take a day trip using the west entrance. What a great trip!

Family vaccation
We loved the location, amenities and overall comfort of Powder Ridge 118. We brought two extra vaporizers with us but that was not needed since there was one in every room. Everything to make our ski vacation was in the cabin; pots, pans, dishes, essentials in all the bathrooms and a full size washer and dryer. We had our traditional meals of tacos, spaghetti, chicken and pizza and had all the necessary equipment in the kitchen. We had a wonderful dinner out at Lone Mountain Ranch and Buck's T4, the trip to Big Sky is not complete until we dine at both of those restaurants. We took a day off from skiing and went to Yellowstone on a snowmobile adventure. We used Two Top rentals and had a terrific guide, Conrad. Do not miss this experience. Wild life and natural beauty. While the kids stayed on the mountain my husband and I cross country skied at the Lone Mountain Ranch. We will be back!

Return Powder Ridge Customer
My family and friends have now had the privilege of staying in four different Powder Ridge properties, and this property lived up to its billing with ease. We had a gr8t week at PR 118! The property was immaculate and perfectly suited to our needs; the teens took over the lower level den and had fun with the gaming system. We could ski out to the White Otter lift via easy access trails - even for this "green slope" mom who doesn't try to keep up with the teens who ski the entire property. We alternated between cooking a night (the kitchen had it all) and eating out. Big Sky has great pizza and local ambience at Milkie's, and the Snow-cat ride to dinner in a yurt was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Ice climbing with a guide at Hyalite Canyon was a dream come true. This cabin was the perfect place to return to as a home-base for any Big Sky adventures. We didn't want to leave. Big Sky is skiing heaven !
Thanks Mike, Kirsten & Kris, We had an absolute ball at the cabin. It was soooooo good to see all that fresh snow during our last week. If I had to contend with that much powder at the beginning of our stay I would definitely had lessons on how to ski the damn stuff properly !!! We are already discussing a return trip – we’ll be in touch. One small issue – when we arrived I noticed the small sign just inside both the main entry door & the downstairs door out to the hot tub which reads, “Please keep our house clean by leaving your shoes outside…..”, or words to that effect. If it was my cabin I would want that to happen also, however the reality is that after skiing all day (every day) somewhere is needed for everyone’s ski or board boots. Everyone’s boots, whether ski or board boots OR whether they were new or old needed somewhere to dry out over night, every night. Perhaps the laundry could be converted into a drying room where boots could be stored & everyone’s ski jackets & pants could also be hung up at the end of each day (it’s just a thought to remove the clutter that we always had near the front door, not to mention everyone’s jackets & pants hanging up around the living room). My family took a vacation with 3 other families. Between the 4 families we have 6 kids under the age of 3, and the cabin was large enough (and comfortable enough) to meet our needs. Kris was very helpful checking us in and even let us borrow her personal child carrier for hiking during our stay. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and also take their naps. We stayed a few nights during the week in the summer and it felt like we had the mountain to ourselves. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of our cooking needs (on top of pots and pans we even had some peanut butter, hot chocolate mix, sugar, etc.). The trip ended up being even better than we had anticipated, and all of the families would like to go back again.

The Best Place Ever!
We stayed here with our grandma's and grandkids! Absolutely perfect! The grandkids had the downstairs all to themselves, grandma's had the main level, and we had the upstairs all to ourselves! This cabin is everything it says it is, and the staff do everything it says they do! We were made to feel so welcome the minute we walked into the door, and anytime there was something that needed attended to, they were right there!! Looking at the pic's makes me want to stay there again! The private hot tub and deck were a huge bonus! We absolutely enjoyed our stay there! Thanks Kirsten and the rest of the staff for such a wonderful home away from home!

Excellent choice for Big Sky area
Our group of ski friends rented this unit 2/2011 and we enjoyed our week long stay immensely. We are a picky group, accustomed to very nice accommodations when we ski, and this cabin did not disappoint. Despite some frigid temps and lots of snow, the place was warm and cozy. The ski-out, ski-in to Big Sky was pretty easy, and the skiing was excellent. The cabin is in excellent shape, nice amenities, good location, with a nice view of the sunrise from the deck, and though we did not use the hot tub due to the weather, it looked very nice and inviting. The kitchen has a good array of pots/pans/dishes and that is a big help as we made most of our own meals (which I strongly recommend if you stay for more than a few days). You should have a 4WD vehicle, as the roads in the area can be tough after a big snow. Kirsten King and her associates are very nice to work with, gave us a personal tour/intro to the cabin, were very helpful with suggestions for places to go and things to do, and overall provided us with a very professional, positive experience. We would not hesitate to stay in this unit again, and hope to on our next trip to Big Sky.

Powder Ridge Cabin - Big Sky MT
We (my spouse and 3 adult children - plenty of "space" for all) stayed at this Powder Ridge cabin for about two weeks over the Christmas holiday. Not a difficult ski-out to (less than 15 minutes to base area) and very easy ski-in from Big Sky resort (I'm a "blue run" skier). Management team was extremely pleasant and very accommodating - they even helped me by accepting delivery of Christmas presents that I had shipped. Cabin was very clean and well equipped (including wireless internet and satellite TV). Location also very convenient to Moonlight Basin resort although we did not ski there this year - we dined at Moonlight - good food and great atmosphere - a couple of times including Christmas Eve and had no problem with roads which were routinely cleared of snow each day.

Wonderful memories from our time at Big Sky Cabin, Powder Ridge #306011
The cabin was warm and cozy, yet plenty of room for 3 couples with a child. There is even a separate bunk room for the kids! The beds were great and plenty of room in each bedroom for all of your ski gear. There is even an outside locked storage area for your skis and poles. Every couple had their own bathroom. The hot tub was easy to use. Everynight we would gather together for a sit down dinner. The kitchen is well designed and easy for two cooks to work around. There is plenty of storage space for what ever food you might bring. Pots, pans, dishes, and utensils are provided. The place was very clean and well maintained. I loved the access to the Big Sky slopes, an easy ski to the local chair lift. Make sure you get a map and/or directions before you head back. Once you get off the ski slopes, the trip back to the cabin is a gentle down hill all the way, so remember to keep you speed up as you glide back to the cabin. Overall we all had a great time. It was great staying on the mountain. One day we stayed home and played in the snow, building snow men and hanging out by the fire. It was a wonderful trip.

Beautiful, relaxing, clean!
We have stayed at this particular residence a few times and every time it seems to get better. The home is clean, has great decor, well kept, has all the amenities (everything from the soap to the DVD player) to keep everyone happy, and convenient to plenty of activities. Restaurants are nearby and great; activities (skiing, snow-shoeing, fly-fishing in warmer season, Yellowstone) are easy to get to and easy to reserve; the cabin is quiet and comfortable whether we (family) go alone or with another family. The kitchen is nicely laid out - we use it primarily for breakfasts - especially considering MR Hummers (great restaurant!!) is such an easy drive from the house (the resort will even pick us up if we don't want to drive ourselves)! We will be back this year at least once!

Powder Ridge
Very nice property, very clean and roomy especially for just two couples. Loved the views from the deck off the kitchen. Two challneges that need to be addressed are the low watt lamps/bulbs. Visibility was poor at night and the sound on the TV was marginal. Perhaps adding some speakers would help with volume and clarity.
